there is nothing wrong with the system. leave it alone. people can easily use a macro. again... nothing is wrong with the system. "too sensitive"? there is zero logic in that statement. you touch a control then you are back. simple.

the ONLY thing you should consider is a simple option. one that allows players to configure if touching any controls changes your status back from AFK to normal. i can understand when people want to go AFK waiting for something in-game. like a specific weather condition or a time of day. i can understand if they don't want their status updated, because maybe they don't want people thinking they are back just yet. and don't want people to think they are just being ignored or something. but that is what either a macro or /busy status is for.

either way... there is nothing wrong with the system.

apparently you didnt pay attention to the issue here, the system is putting people back before they actually are. some people can't even use it because their mouse is too sensitive or whatever. many of the people complaining in this thread if you actually read through it are not touching their controls when they leave but finding themselves back anyway. the point is there is something wrong with it. it was implimented without working out all the flaws to it. not to mention before they implimented the auto away you could type /away and not have it put you back till you typed it again. some of us preferred it that way.

again... nothing wrong with the system. lol.

    cheers.

that is a workaround for a flawed system. a workaround we should not have to use. not to mention if you turn off auto away it should not make you auto come back when you /away

Oh, stop stamping your feet like a baby.

Here's why it is SE's issue:

    1. They implemented the change without requesting feedback, and without us requesting it OF them.
    2. They could have just as easily made it an OPTION like other games do.
    3. The idea that /away can't be used unless you have physically walked away from the computer and the ENTIRE ROOM will remain completely undisturbed in your absence is absolutely asinine and unrealistic. Might as well remove the feature entirely and tell people just to logout.

And you know what? I have a feeling that's exactly what they wanted. Maybe the server numbers are starting to climb again and they think this is a good way to irritate people enough that they won't use it and just log out. Who knows. I just know that this is the only game and the only community that seems to consistently want to punish people who play.

if the system were actually flawed then yes it would be a workaround. if you are in game and hit /afk but use the ALT or Windows key-modifier to minimize the game. then obviously the game is still in focus will accept user input and register that as you not being AFK. using a macro is not a workaround. using a macro gives you the chance to bend the rules. but on that last half i can most certainly agree... provided you didn't touch any controls. lol.

again... i know players in-game that have experienced these so called issues. a macro works great for them. and even the players with an overly-sensitive mouse found the macro suggestion to work very well.

anyhow it doesn't matter. whatever this fabricated issue is, SE is doing something about it. enjoy and cheers.

Using up a macro slot on the hotbar of every class is such a rock stupid thing to do when you can just /away and be done with it. Anyone who played XI did this and never had an issue. Why it was changed, three years into the game, here, when there are so many other actually broken things to work on is beyond me.

    1.) not relevant.
    2.) only somewhat relevant.
3.) i have no idea what you are talking about. i have no idea what you are suggesting. you speak non-sense. nobody ever said that /afk could or should be only accessible under such conditions.

P.S. you are the only one that sounds upset.

I am a winner, even though I sometimes fail.
