Thread: Grey Text After Patch 1.18

I am surprised I have not found a thread about all the grey text we are seeing after 1.18. Apparently it is happening across the various chat modes, ls, say, etc. Text appears without the sender's name to the left of the message, and is grey instead of the appropriate color of the chatmode. After reloggin, some people can now see my name by the text I type, but some people still see my text as grey and no name.

I get empty tells too (no sender name) but once I send a tell back to the person, it seems to work properly

Please fix this! Other ppl can see tells and ls chat

Yeah a lot of my Linkshell members are showing up as grey.. I can't see who is who.. Hopefully they will hotfix this.

A simple client restart should fix this!

Specify the type of connection. (dial-up, DSL, CATV, Optic Fiber, Other)

Internet Connection Speed:
Specify the speed of internet connection. (Example: 768Kbit/s, 5Mbit/s)

Also, buritoslicer did bring up a point that may help (thanks, buritoslicer!). Please let us know if you continue to have trouble after trying to log completely out of the game before logging back in. Thanks again for your participation!

Grey text and no names may have had something to do with the difficulties of login in. Looks like it got fixed with "Recovery from All Worlds Login Difficulties (Jul. 21)" maintenance. I see no more grey text or heard of any further complaints about grey text from LS members.
