I am having fun for the first time in a while in FFXIV lol
New cutscenes and music. Now I feel like I am playing a Final Fantasy!
Oh yes, the accuracy buff is great!
I'd be happy about the patch too if I we're a conjurer. The beastmen camps we're cool, the quests were cool that I saw so far, crashing was lame. I'm okay with nerf, just make some of my class abilities non cross classable like Conj has, to even it out some. As of now conj can take anything a thm has up until 50, only thing stopping them will be action cost and mp lol. Still a lil disheartening, can't wait for maybe a thm dd specific move in 1.19 hint hint. or make another shadowsear ability, since I think thats the only thing Conj can't use on thm lol.
Yeah, I totally notice the accuracy changes *-*
Also..anyone noticed the changes in the design of the zones already?
I did not get out of Thanalan yet, but seriously, it's great. I found some cute litte(and big xD) cactuses that weren't there before, different ones, which also differ from each other, at random points, little destinguished landmarks we asked for, stuff like that..it's so great!
I'm all hyped up already and I didn't see much yet, haha
I bet there would be even more to see, but the sandstorm is keeping me from seeing it x)
There are diremites at humblehearth that were not here yesterday.
DoL sp gain got a buff, even when just normal mining/logging. Which is very very nice.
Since I just started a new character from scratch, I haven't gotten to see much of the stuff beyond the lower level areas in Black Shroud...
From what I've seen so far, though...
- Much smoother performance over all.
- UI is much more responsive; immediate in some cases
- Maybe it's just me, but the graphics seem to be "richer", colors seem a bit more vibrant... Seems like they might have improved/optimized the renderer a bit. Anyone else noticing this?
- Can def. tell they increased the draw distance, that harsh transition between low and high quality textures happens farther away than it did... now if they could only make the transition more of a smooth blend than a "hard line"... it would be perfect
- Autoattack is neat... actually different. I'm not used to not having to press 1 over and over lol
- I like where they have the aggro meter, tucked away, not huge and garish but still visible. Very elegant implementation for that.
Haven't had too much time to check more out; I want to hold out on doing any leves or quests 'til they've confirmed that the random crashes are resolved... don't wanna miss out on a cut-scene or fail a leve on account of a DC :-p.

Something I was about to post for fun in the "first things Im going to do- thread" was something about taking a look at the chocobos if they already look more lively and happy before patch 1.19..well, I wanted to say it as a joke, but it's true!
Kyaaah, they are so cuute <3
flapping their wings, going "kweeeh kweeh" and their eyes sparkle so much *-*
(I dunno about town chocobos, just found some in the new outposts, which have a really great design btw.)
I love how I can login without issues because the game has been out for a year and the servers are stable now.
err... wait... what's this thread about again?

I am just enjoying the fact that the groundwork has been finally laid for future content and changes to the game in general. I know some are unhappy with the nerfs, but you cant please everyone. And I also wanted to comment on the game feeling more responsive, even with the servers getting hammered as they are right now. Either way, Im excited about FFXIV again. Cant wait to dive in to the new content.
