Will I only need to obtain materia for secondary stats?

Like since I'm a MNK, I would only need to worry about getting ACC and SKL-SPD, or should I be reading this differently?

The way I understand it, it creates a use for even materia I's.
Would just cost more in Alexandrites than by using materia IV's.

The last thing I want to see is me having a Gae Bolg with DET + 20, Crit + 44, while another guy has DET + 21, Crit + 45

According to this image, you won't have that problem. 0/75 stats when you obtain it, looking at the patch notes and Gae Bolg, we see that he has 44 Crit and 31 Skill Speed, which adds up to 75.

It's a more reasonable assumption than going nuts over materia IV prices going to skyrocket.
