just to get it done faster, im somewhat tempted to try and get you more IV materia, that way we can see/know for sure about the whole "do a full infusion, only get 22 det." im going to be doing something similar soon to make a giant push into animus. just gotta stop being lazy about books.
I included a pic to my post showing +23 Det.just to get it done faster, im somewhat tempted to try and get you more IV materia, that way we can see/know for sure about the whole "do a full infusion, only get 22 det." im going to be doing something similar soon to make a giant push into animus. just gotta stop being lazy about books.
if SE didnt want to allow people to have 31det/44other they would have made so 1det infuse give 0.71 point of det (need 44 infus to cap@31 &then cant infuse more than 31 other stat)
+det would have the same infusion rate than other.
already existing sample are melded armor: you can break other armor total cap maxing up to 3stat on lower piece melding matIV*5
Interested about a futur screen shot for really know if we can put 31 det on Stardust Rod. Some people told me that Det cap on i110 weapon cannot be more than +22, so I'm afraid.
Well atm I would guess the sucess rates would be the same as the last 2 tiers (100% - 100% - 94% - 88% - 80% - 70% - 60% - 50%). So the first 2/3 will be fairly safe. 50% for that last tier IV aint fun tho.
Nah, the highest Det that has been on an existing weapon is 31. This, however, only left room for 31 points of a second stat. Look at the unweathered Book of Spades as an example: 31 Det and 31 Crit. Summoners drool over it XD
This is my opinion too. The Novus needs to match stat weights with the other i110 weapons. They aren't crafted weapons. It's even more puzzling because keeping a 1:1 ratio on every stat would create discrepancies between one Novus and another. It's not quite right for one to have more points than another just because of stat choice. All Novi(is this a proper plural?) need to be equal in respect of this or else people will definitely start complaining. The best way to look at this is.... why would the Novus secondary stats = more than High Allagan.... Look at the High Allagan Kite Shield, PAR 13, DET 6.... If the stats on the Novus are 1 to 1 then you would be able to get PAR 13 and DET 9... I am pretty sure they wouldn't give you more secondary stats on a Novus than you would get on the High Allagan. You could also look at High Allagan Spear CRIT 32 and DET 32, it would make no sense for the Novus to have CRIT 44 and DET 31. You could make the argument that High Allagan weapons have more damage and main stats to make up for it... but following all previous weapon progression it doesn't make sense for a Novus to have better secondary stats when compared to a High Allagan
Again, all is speculation, but I tend to lean on the side that if it sounds to good to be true then it probably is.
Yeah, the low infusion caps on Piety and Determination seem to completely disallow a weapon that only uses these two secondary stats. I'm questioning it too, especially since you can get ridiculous stat weights by using both at once. The Yagrush proves that a weapon can possess both and fit weights...Well... From another point of view...
My Thyrus Animus has 29 Det and 28 SS.
Let's say i want to max out Det (cap at 31 on scroll) and PIE (cap at 33).
After i maxed theese 2 stats i will sit at 64 points into the scroll.
If i'm forced to put the last 11 point into something else, only to find out my Det got gimped from 29 down to 22, i'd be pretty pissed...
Yagrush: 22 x 1.415 = 31.13 Det, 33 x 1.34 = 44.22 Piety = 75.35 total. Rounds down to 75.
But, your proposed Novus?
31 x 1.415 = 43.86 Det, 33 x 1.34 = 44.22 Piety, 11 x 1.0 Another stat... this adds up to 99.08! Almost a solid 33% more in weight than any other i110 weapon and any Novus that doesn't use weighted stats!

Is it just not possible that they didn't cap the stats on these weapons and instead left higher stat values for the novus? These are weapons that will continue to grow and maybe they wanted to give people who are putting the time and effort in these more incentive to work on them when you can just get lucky on a drop or two in coil and boom: you have an equal/better weapon. Honestly this makes more sense to me and while it may hurt the feelings of some raiders (being a raider myself they don't hurt my feelings), this just might be the case.
I think people are reading FAR.. too deep into something that doesn't need to be. Sometimes the most obvious thing is obvious because it is correct. If the scroll says +75, and tells you the caps, and trading the weapon shows that it is infact a 1 for 1 relationship then it is just that. My veil will have; Crit 44, Det 31. The old man is pretty clear in the quest text even.
