I see what you mean, but don't think that every player of FFXIV is like yourself or me caring to compute stats, caps etc... they need to do something "casual" and converting 31 det into 22 det without any explaination a priori is not casual at all.

I'd rather see det increased of 3 points every 2 melds or something on this line.

That's why I think we'll end up with 31 det/44 crit (me at least)...

anyhow, we'll soon see since someone getting close to capping and keeping us updated here on the forum =)

And there we go. Proof that the Novus breaks established i110 stat caps. I stand down.

As for you, is that comment really necessary? I thought that we were, insofar, being mostly civil about all of this. We had yet to specifically snipe at someone or throw insults around. But you just crossed that line.

In this entire discussion, we("we" being those who thought weights would apply) were being the reasonable ones. Even after identifying trends and making the theory based on systems that have been consistent through the game's entire life, we were the ones saying that "Yeah, it's possible that the weight cap can be broken, but we think this might happen too". We never once said "No, there's no way SE will let you break the stat caps. You're dumb for thinking that". You("you" being those who thought weights would not matter) were being unreasonable. You continually pushed aside our claims with circumstantial evidence. Even after countless calls of "stop arguing and just wait for someone to finish a Novus!" you kept whining that our theory was impossible and that it was silly to believe it could be true.

Meanwhile, we never claimed that this could never happen! We only claimed that it would be unbalanced if it did. Well, it did happen, and now there is an imbalance between an Novus with Determination/Piety and a Novus without them. Hopefully this news came in time to avoid upsetting too many people(especially White Mages!) who chose the "wrong" stats and may feel like they've wasted precious time with their current infusions.

Now, we may move on with our lives in Eorzea, knowing that we know everything we likely need to know about the Novus.

This one's for the OP

The stats on a Novus Weapon are exactly equivalent to the number of materia you infuse into each of your chosen stats. All are added in a 1:1 ratio, including Determination and Piety.
