It's a lot less work to get an allagen tomestone weapon and sand then it is to do all the novus stuff. But I am going to do novus anyway because this is the only weapon they keep upgrading.
Bla bla bla...So your telling me, after 13,500 myth, 18 hours of atma farming, and another 20 hours to do the books
I Get EVEN MORE MYTH FARMING! (Take into account the free map everyday, along side farming 800 myth everything single day not skipping a day, It's well over a month)
Not to mention the MASSIVE Gil sink for materia (The prices may drop a bit, but for a long time its going to be just ridiculously expensive, and for people who don't care to craft, will be almost unreal)
You don't have to get it in a day, week or even a month...
If you finish it by the time 2.4 hits, you're not behind at all, and that's expected to be more than 3 months from now.
About the Alexandrite from FATEs, Yes, it does drop. Two friends were doing fates at Aleport area after fed up with myth runs, one of them got lucky and got it.
I'm guessing you can only get maps And alexandrite if you have an animus weapon? I I don't even have my Atma weapon. I don't want to be left behind like. Would be cool if I can stock up on it.

Since map (both quested and myth bought) can only be gotten after you do a certain quest that requires you have animus, that's not an option for you.
Alexandrites from FATEs are also not an option by the patch notes that say they can only drop if you have an animus equipped.
The only thing left for you is to collect materia.
bah. I have 8 Atma man this is going to be long. I have to much materia lol. I think I'll make money and worry about this later. I don't mind spiritbonding gear. Thanks for the replySince map (both quested and myth bought) can only be gotten after you do a certain quest that requires you have animus, that's not an option for you.

the in-game explanation for this weapon are SO BAD!

I stated several times that I don't mind grindy stuff, I actually liked the Atma-Animus proccess. However, I have mixed feelings about this one. If you improve the scroll POINT BY POINT through 72 Alexandrites (If you're lucky, because the % drops with each attempt) and making sure you're stacking the RIGHT stats in the weapon...
I know it's a long process and I don't want this weapon handled so easy. If I think about it, getting the ilvl 110 sold weapon or, even beating the final boss in T9 and getting its weapon, is easier than this. If they include the sands and oils drops in the actual CT, getting the ilvl 110 weapon will be a lot easier for most people. Now, let alone the materias, if these are tier 1 only, you can easily spiritbond low level gear, but... if you go 1/1 with the maps (Dailies and myth farming), you need like 28.800 myth tomes and 36 daily quests. It doesn't sound so terrifying considering the fact that SE wants this quest to be a time sink between patches and I will probably do it!!! I hope things go better when they make the Alexandrite a most frequent drop.
