    Please stop punishing us for disconnects or game freezes.

    * Players who lose their connection or log out while in an instanced raid will be relocated to outside the area entrance when logging back in.
    I'm assuming this means it kicks you out of the raid, but maybe (hopefully) I'm wrong and you can still run back in. If not......

    1. this game is still buggy, i doubt everything has been fixed (even the update notes say the game can freeze or stop working when you exit the raid). So it's really unfair to punish players who's games freeze due to programming errors or SE Server-end areas.

    2. Not everyone has the best internet connections ever. People who have a poor internet connection and disconnect a lot will hate this game if they can't accomplish things without 5 tries due to consistently disconnecting.

    3. Imagine how anyone would feel, getting close to the end of a really hard raid, expending food, ammo, etc. and then losing it because the game freezes or because their internet fails. It's going to happen, probably a fair bit, and it will probably annoy a lot of players and hurt their experience.

    Honestly, people complained non stop about how you shouldn't fail leves on disconnect when the game started. So why would anyone think making a 60min raid kick you out on disconnect is a good idea?

    And for those saying "its too hard to make a raid that doesn't kick you out on disconnect, steal the code from ffxi.

    i guess 5 min reenter time is not enough? have all the party get out and try again. Imagine going in > DC > wait 3 days to go in.

    And the new leve set up is only going to make disconnecting during a leve even more frustrating because you wont get the sp bonus from finishing that before you were getting from the mobs you killed before dc'ing.

    So many MMOs will relocate people that disconnect in any type of instances -- It's not punishment but it's not their fault if you lose connection.

    1. The game is buggy, but I've yet to disconnect from this game since they've fixed certain item bugs. They listed the issues in case people run into that they already know there's a freezing issue, but the issue is not while entering, which would then be a huge problem, but it's while exiting.

    2. This is when you take a step back and think if you should even be playing a game requiring a constant internet connection if you're prone to systematic disconnects.

    3. It happens -- If they start catering to people with bad internet and the like, they then need to start catering to people who have no issues at all and give them rewards and bonuses for being able to play for hours on end consecutively, slippery slope my friend.


    So yeah it can get annoying but if the issue isn't on their end as to why you disconnect they can't really be blamed for designing something a certain way, because think about the most obvious use for disconnects and being able to stay in zone:

    Full reset.

    It's a tactic used in almost all MMOs that has instances that doesn't have proper countermeasures.

    ffxi never penalized for disconnect and it worked fine for years.

    I'm not proposing anything revolutionary, ffxiv is a newer MMO, it should not have faults that it's predecessor had solved.

    there's no downside to letting people respawn in the raid or letting them keep their leve till the time runs out.

    At least behest now ALSO will punish those with bad connections. I myself never DC its great, but I feel bad for the others who do. Like ppl who would double link a leve and DC...... not that links are worth anything now. I think. Go Go uTorrent.

    Internet connectivity issues are a user side problem as well as a game side one depending on what happens.

    Server and client side disconnects should be handled in the same manner with measures in place to minimize the impact upon player experience. In the case where returning a player disconnected from the server might be hazardous it would be ideal to place the character out of harms way. (In this case at the start of a dungeon would be reasonable, and allow them to re-enter and catch up with the group).

    Further, there should be a way in place for party leaders to boot disconnected players and continue on. Causing severe setbacks because one out of eight people are unable to stay constantly connected for the hour or two necessary to complete a raid could lead to a lot of drama if not treated delicately.
