Stop blaming others for your short comings

We see this in EVERY game these days. That one jerk off that will think he's made of gold, fails hard and then starts blaming everyone else for all his problems. Will it stop? probably not, but there's no shame in hoping. In this game, the most we can do now is kick them and report them(DF parties makes this difficult), but it's never enough. They'll just go on to do it again to others.

No one is dragging you down, you just suck. Come to terms with the fact that you suck, and strive to get better. And if it's not a matter skill, and a matter of knowledge, then learn form those that know it and are willing to help you. Don't sit there and assume that because you're being the most vocal, that you're the one that's correct. If several people are telling you that you're wrong, then shut the hell up and come to terms with the fact that you're wrong. Don't sit there and argue with people to the point that you have to go stand in a corner and cry about it(i.e those guys that refuse to do anything unless you kick the guy they don't like, or them).

In addition to those who just plain suck and blame others for things going wrong, you have the players that explode at others for trying to help them. People are not telling you what to do when they offer you advice, they're trying to help you. Granted a lot of the help these people are trying to give you can be avoided if you'd actually READ once in a while. If you're playing dragoon, and you're doing combos that don't actually chain off one another, and your using each skill from the wrong position(i.e. using heavy thrust from behind and then spamming chaos thrust from the side), then you should be getting mad at yourself for not actually learning what you're skills do before using them, instead of yelling at the guy trying to help you.

Most of us have come across the guy that replies with "Shut up and let me play my way". The proper response for someone trying to help you is "oh, ok, i didn't know that, thank you, I'll remember that". But if you're gonna act like a douche, then stay out of dungeons, because you're of no help to your party if you're just gonna be an idiot. you want to do twin snakes over and over? then go do single player content, don't make things worse for others.

Either way it plays out, many of you need to grow the hell up. It may be a video game, but that doesn't mean that you need to be an immature little prick.

If your advice comes with the same tone as your post, it is no surprise they would snap back at you. Even people that like to learn don't exactly enjoy being taught, especially when they are being stressed or pressured.

This guy's right. Don't go off on a tirade of various "you suck" insults and call it advice. That's not advice, that's you being a dick. And the most important rule in this game is is don't be a dick.

Lol this game is just like any other game, whether it be board games or video games; as long as you have fun. Cuz that's what matters as it is only a game for your enjoyment.
If he is having fun and you are not then that is your loss.

You can always tell them off or tell them to stop but we all know how effective that is when you are dealing with those types of ppl.

    You're right and wrong.

While it's not your place to say "you suck get better", it is your place as a member of this games community to help others improve. Offering advice to assist someone, isn't telling them to get better, just as telling someone to get better isn't assisting them.

This isn't a post about my individual advice giving. This post isn't advice in the first place, this post is a reality check to those that need it(though many wont care or see it). Actual advice should never be accompanied by harsh tones, and anyone giving advice with a dickish tone in game is just being a dick. Also, stating that some people that like to learn don't like being taught makes no sense. Even if you get your information from a book, or by trial and error, you are still being taught, as you are learning from the author, or mechanics in the game are teaching you to react.

And how many people actually follow that "rule"? Some times is takes being a douche bag, to make other douche bags realize they're causing problems.

Two wrongs don't make a right....but three rights make a left.

Most of the content requires a team, people can be as ignorant and bad as they want in the solo content but if they're doing a terrible job in a dungeon and refusing to even try any advice being given to help them improve then their enjoyment is coming at the cost of 3/7/23 other people and that's not right or fair.
