I get what you mean just saying like random stuff I could think of. Yeah Turn 7 low DPS can provide the same problems, what I'm getting at is more of the people who can destroy the fights getting like double petrifaction and not getting a voice stuff like that.I don't care for the DPS restrictions on your Ifrit/Leviathan examples and agree with you entirely there. However, your T5/7 examples are not the same in my opinion. If you're killing conflags before Twin uses fireball, that just means your group should be spending an extra GCD or two on Twin before popping the conflag instead. And for T7 it's not directly a punishment for high DPS. You can get bad timings just as easily with poor DPS as you can with high.
I think the way they did Pharos first boss is a more correct way to make a group consider DPS. Where adds are spawned at certain %'s and with higher gear they can come relatively quickly. It is atleast giving the group a choice in how they want to consider their DPS. Overgear without consideration to halting DPS and you may possibly be overrun. Overgear some more and you may have the choice to burn through with the chance to plow through it. Either way, it still leaves the group with a choice in if they want to push DPS. The insta kill at hitting a threshold at an undesired period designated by the devs is lazy in my opinion.
DPS management is the latest mechanic to get a spotlight. Otherwise, higher dps - faster clears.
Pretty much the worst feature of this game: Get punished for doing too good.
Scoring high DPS numbers because you got gear is not "doing too good." That is a completely wrong attitude or idea. Being able to control and manage your DPS and power well and responsibly is what separate good from bad. Good gear is just like a good race car, but at the end of the day it is driver skill that matter. Pedal to metal guarantees you go into wall at the first turn or fly over the cliff.
If you recall from Bleach:
"all captain-level Shinigami consciously keep their Zanpakutō in a manageable size, or else everyone would be swinging around swords the size of skyscrapers .... never to judge an opponent by the size of their Zanpakutō."
I am sorry but how can you defend sloppy mechanics because people out-geared something. Its awful work plain and simple and it does need to be sorted out.Scoring high DPS numbers because you got gear is not "doing too good." That is a completely wrong attitude or idea. By the same token the roads are "awful work plain and simple" because I can't go 100mph on average even if the basic Toyota Corolla can. I think peopel are being unfair.
Are you all cats or something. I like cats and all, but give you more yarn and you strangle yourself... Seriously?
But I get it, the elitist want to be able to wag their skyscraper sized e-peens all over the place all the time, so they can dictate to everyone else that they must do their super optimized correct rotations all the time. How about ease up on the throttle, take it slower big guy? Learn some self control.

Has absolutely nothing to do with being an elitist, and absolutely everything to do with being able to put to use the gear you've collected over days/weeks/months. Your shtick is tiring. Not everything has to do with "e-peens" God forbid people play a game that heavily involves collecting gear to increase their capabilities and crazy as it may seem, have a desire to put that gear to use.But I get it, the elitist want to be able to wag their skyscraper sized e-peens all over the place all the time, so they can dictate to everyone else that they must do their super optimized correct rotations all the time. At least the driver has tools to manage his engine temperature, MPH/kph etc where we as players are totally blind. We get a bosses HP bar with no percentage indication aside from us estimating, yet so many mechanics at percentage based.. when you aren't provided with all the tools you need to succeed it is a problem for the designerScoring high DPS numbers because you got gear is not "doing too good."
