Is it possible to macro cover into covering your closest party member?

Uhm, yeah. Like would it be possible to create a macro, and have it instantly use cover on your closest ally?

Also off-topic, but what would be the input to make provoke activate followed by shield lob? I'm new to macro-managing and I haven't been able to get this one to work properly :S.

You don't need that wait command. Since Provoke has a cd, it will automatically use shield lob after provoke by tapping it twice.

Not sure why you would want to use Cover on a random party member near you.
Why not use <tt> (target's target) and stay on the mob. If the mob starts attacking someone else you just press the macro and Cover the person that takes damage.

EDIT: This only works if the person taking damage got the brain to run to you instead of kiting the mob around ofc.

and as far as I know decimals get rounded, so 0.5 is actually 1.
I don't macro them, so I didn't try, but it should also work without /wait if you press the button twice. The macro would just use the 1st ability and if you press again, the 2nd.
But for tank swaps I'd keep a seperate provoke so you can follow it with a SB or RoH combo for a nice spike in hate.

Hm that is the current macro I have now. Covers targets target. But what if the atttack is an aoe? What if a handful of mobs rushes to the healer and I would like to cover them followed be a flash? These are situations where I think this macro would prove beneficial.

Remove the /wait .5 and leave as is. Tap the button twice and you're golden (although I discourage this macro because pulling with Voke is a silly idea unless you need to pull something 25y away)

As for Cover, try using /ac "Cover" <mo>. Just mouse over the person you're trying to target

or, maybe, they aren't pulling with it, and want a 1 button solution to quickly recover a loose mob.. unless he does intend to pull with it, which I'm with you on that one ;P

Yeah, it was situations exactly like that where a loose mob would target a dps, or worse a healer.

    Anyway I figured it out.

    /micon "cover"
    /targetpc
    /ac "cover" <t>

    Works like a charm.

I tried the /ac "Cover" <tt> for a while but found that sometimes it didn't work too well, for me anyways.
/ac "Cover" <t> works just fine for me as I can just select the player that needs it due to the way my HUD is set up and they get covered right away. Also include a little blurb with your cover, to let em know. Mine has a message stating who I am using it on and how long it lasts, then a secondary to let them know when it has worn.

Shield lob is correct in that
    /ac "Provoke" <t>
    /wait 1
    /ac "Shield Lob" <t>

    works just fine.

Also on blurbs with your macros, DON'T add text to all of them, just the important ones you use that need communication to your party, i.e. Cover, HG, Bash(this one is fight dependent, for stun locks), maybe for voke. Mostly I use it for cover and HG, oh and that ever so rare occasion I get to LB ^.^
