What Job do you think CON will come out as?

Now that the abilities and spells have been updated, I think SE gave us a more clear indication of what role's CON and THM play out.

I think it's safe to say THM will likely lead as an RDM Job
But that leaves only one other mage class, and a necessary healing role.

Thoughts?

At this point it seems like Conjurer should lead to WHM and BLM... >.>

On one of my chars I play Conjurer like a BLM and on another I play a healer.
I hope with the new jobs system we get BLM from something at least. lol

Confirmed mage jobs, according to the Famitsu interview, are WHM and BLM. It seems pretty obvious to me who will end up the WHM so BLM, by process of elimination, finds its place too. This has also been discussed in numerous threads already.

CON just got class restricted heals and raise abilities. Therefore, it stands to reason SE has already decided CON will unlock WHM since it would not make sense to give these white mage abilities to CON only and then make the healer archetype be another class.

Now that those two are paired up, you have BLM and THM left. Does that answer your question?

The problem is that CON has both the heal spells and the elemental nukes. Following your same line of logic, THM will not be BLM, but it will also be opened by CON. I'm hoping this is true, because it makes more sense than THM unlocking it.

You're right, it is a problem and one they have to address.

However, to keep on point my line of logic does NOT follow through to CON unlocking BLM. Just the opposite. Those nukes can be crossed classed, the CON only heal/raises cannot. Very important distinction.

According to Bayohne, the devs have stated outright that there will be 1 job for 1 class. Whether this is just to start or the hard rule is another debate entirely and let us not go there. All we know is that in the initial implementation there will be 1 job for 1 class. That information, coupled with the confirmation that there will be two mage jobs when the job system is put in (WHM and BLM) and my logic above as to the CON only spell additions means THM is our BLM archetype.

I've argued this point over and over again until I am blue in the face over the past two weeks. I'm hardly going to continue it here. We will all see what happens when jobs come.
