A bot can do this. So, are you a skilled player, or are you a bot?

Skill = knowing how to deal with a situation that may or may not happen at any given moment.

    Endgame?! Don't make me laugh.

What the title says, also this game is in no way comparable to any other mmo development wise yes ffxiv has been out for years since 2010 in fact but dont forget the first iteration failed miserably and nearly died. The reborn version is only just over a year old other games like Wow and FFXI are in their 12-13th year and highly evolved from the original state. Comparatively FFXIV if held next to ffxi is barely into Rise of the Zilart which if others have played ffxi they know the original game was capped at lvl 50 and included the first 3 nations and the city of Jeuno. Rise of the Zilart was packaged with a few advanced jobs including summoner and released the next level cap 60 along with additional continents to encompass the story. Quiet down about endgame because there is no such thing yet, in terms of SE's established schemata for developing games we have 3 expansions before anything remotely endgame will be added.

Fights would definitely be more interesting if it wasn't completely scripted. The boss fight in Stone Vigil(Hard) was pretty fun, due to the fact that you didn't know what was coming next and be ready to go in any direction to dodge. While its an easy example, it would be awesome to see this at a raid level. Does phases randomly and the group needs to know how to react to it. Despite still getting the challenges we need from SE, it does feel underwhelming that we are just following a pattern. Hopefully SE starts getting more creative in this department.

    I look forward to expansion's end-game formula:

Weekly 450 Tome X system Capping > New End-Game Non-Coil Instance Clears and Weekly Lockout > Alliance Tower X > Repeat Following Week.

Super Zodiac Atma Grind > Super Zodiac Relic Expansion Quests > Wait 6 months to power-up your Super Zodiac Relic to Omega Zodiac Relic to get on par with New End-Game Non-Coil Instance weapons.

You know a thread is meh when you found more entertainment in reading its tags than the thread itself lol. . . .

You think that bots can't be programmed to deal with more "random" battles? That's a non argument if I ever saw one.

And yes, having to execute precise movements/commands is indeed a measure of skill. As anyone that actually lives in the real world could tell you. Sometimes it feels like these forums are living in their own little pretend world.

Endgame doesnt really exist in new games. It takes years to build that up. If you want 'endgame' go play an established mmo. Most of the complaints will be solved over time. Theres a process to this after all, as a proper endgame is about as large as the rest of the game altogether. You dont build that overnight.

A lot of the fun has been left out of the game as countermeasure against RMT.

We have a virtual world where the economy is pointless. They made it so that you only get the best gear through content or tokens. The cooldowns on consumable items makes them all but useless, and people don't craft/consume many. Bards/Archers don't even need to buy ammo!

Everybody can level all crafts to max level with ease; making anything they may 'want' not 'need' themselves. IMO a craft should take a long time to max level, and we could only max one type of crafter. I could go on talking about the effect of the pointless economy on our world but I think you get my point. The biggest thing missing from the game is an economy that matters.

I understand why it is like this: if the best gear was crafted from rare drops in coil and then sold on the market, any player without a soul could just simply buy gil and have those items. In the process those same players drive prices up too high for honest players to compete. A solid case of damned if they do, damned if they don't.

Bottom line is RMT has ruined the mmorpg genre and the lack of fun and abundance of boredom is the result.
