    Is CT still fulfilling it's original goal?

    Let's talk about this because I honestly think that the way CT has been handled is the biggest botched job in this game so far.

    Supposed to be released as a gearing raid for Coil, CT basically got regulated to an alt-gearing role because by the time it came out most players competing in Coil already had geared out in myth or Allagan. The content in CT isn't particularly challenging - SE wants to keep it simple because it's hard to coordinate 24 man raids.

    Fast forward three months, Second Coil and Soldiery gear are released. Where was our gearing raid this time? We're now three months past those releases. Whenever CT 2 does get released what's going to keep it from being a novelty raid that people run a few times and then just stop caring about? One suggestion/something I recall reading is that they intend on putting Oils/Sands in CT, what makes content that was deliberately made easier than the standard end-game content like Coil worth a reward like that? Granted nobody has seen CT 2 yet but does anyone think that SE is actually going to jack up the difficulty to make it actually merit that type of reward? This isn't even about elitism or trying to prevent people from getting access to gear, but more about SE's desperation attempt to get people to care about a raid people probably would otherwise ignore like Moggle Mog for instance.

    If CT and its future installments want to be relevant they have to be released when the rewards they provide are actually going to be useful. Not 3 months into the life-cycle of the end-game content it should be preceding or at the very least released alongside it.

    Coil is for the cutting edge types, CT is for the masses. CT2 isn't going to be a raid for people who already cleared T9 and have high allagan up the wazoo. It's for the people who can't/won't/aren't ready to do coil 2. Just because the rewards aren't useful to you doesn't mean they aren't useful to a lot of other players.

    Soldiery and Myth already provide the backdrop necessary for that though. People have had 3 months to gear up on soldiery and at least attempt to clear T6 at this point.

    Said it before, will say it again.

    CT purpose was suppose to be the stepping stone to coil. It helped me into coil.
    It was just SE's mistake to release CT so late back then.
    It was suppose to go CT - Coil iirc.

    PS. CT is way more fun than SR'ing Bray all day for Solider's crap
    but will eventually need it for later turns.

    Maybe myth gear, for 1 class as there was a cap on it still. Alot of people play more than 1 class/job and would like gear for all. As for coil, I ran it for about 10 weeks as tank and all I had to show for it were allagan shield and allagan plate belt.

    CT was a decent alternative to gear up another job for other contents, primals/coil whatever where you don't have the myth for that job at the time. And to be honest, I know a lot of people did not clear coil until the weekly lockouts were done away with as they could not find a "static" which they can work with. Most of the pick ups looked for experienced players only, NOT a learning group etc. When CT came out, it was popular, people wanted CT gear, and they are upgrades from darklight. Granted now CT looks worthless as Coil 1 lock and myth cap is gone. But even now, there's plenty of people still struggling in T5 and/or have not attempted 2nd coil. Just because your hardcore group of players cleared 2nd coil it does NOT mean the majority of players have cleared it. Hell, I still find new people in main scenario roulettes every day and see my LS mates run CT, yes people still run CT on my data center

    well when it first came out it was a good filler for the people still farming myth and was in darklight. Now its just full of trolls and headaches.

    Pre-myth cap removal, CT was correctly doing its job. Now, it's just for vanity mainly.

Our FC regularly takes groups out there, mostly filled with newer players or those trying to get gear for off-classes they're not sinking their Myth/Soldiery into. Mostly because it's a lot of fun, but also because it's one of the easier pieces of postgame content and the gear drops, if people are lucky enough to get one, are the easiest gear they're likely to get (there's no speedrunning Brayflox when you're a fresh 50, and you're saving Myth for your Relic anyway)

    Original CT was in a way useful, I remember being geared in half myth half CT gear when I first started Coil. It only really became irrelevant when coil lockouts were removed.

    that is great and all and also the right way for new people. We tried doing that with our FC but the trolls man the trolls. We just decided its less of a headache to just farm myth which is now a lot quicker than it used to be and its better gear.
