Is CT still fulfilling it's original goal?

To be honest, it's still a great stepping stone for getting geared for fresh 50s. Our FC regularly takes groups out there, mostly filled with newer players or those trying to get gear for off-classes they're not sinking their Myth/Soldiery into. Mostly because it's a lot of fun, but also because it's one of the easier pieces of postgame content and the gear drops, if people are lucky enough to get one, are the easiest gear they're likely to get (there's no speedrunning Brayflox when you're a fresh 50, and you're saving Myth for your Relic anyway)

that is great and all and also the right way for new people. We tried doing that with our FC but the trolls man the trolls. We just decided its less of a headache to just farm myth which is now a lot quicker than it used to be and its better gear.

I've only run into one genuine troll in about 15 runs of CT so far. The guy literally ran in and aggro'd every mob in the first chamber, died, and then left the dungeon. Miraculously though, we didn't even wipe from it. I think we did wipe once later against Atomos, but oh well.

There's a lot of newer players in CT, or even experienced players who just don't understand CT, and while only a handful of people need to understand what's going on in order to clear things, when you get the wrong mix of people, things happen. It's rarely deliberate trolling, just accidents. One of my FC buddies put it best last time: "Almost nobody learns how anything in CT works until it goes wrong and someone yells about it".
