PS3 to PS4 and sorta back again!

Hey everyone!

I just had a quick question that I figure would fit best here.

I had the PS3 version and upgraded to the PS4 version back on the 11th of April when it opened up. However, I am wondering if there is any way that I can maybe repurchase the PS3 version, or perhaps add the account to my Mog station so that I will be able to play from either my PS3 or other PS3's that have the client on them?

Basically I just want to be able to log into the game and play on a PS3 as well as a PS4 in much the same way a PC user can log in on PC and PS3 or 4 with the same account and character.

Is this possible or am I forever bound to the PS4?

you can rebuy the ps3 version. i had to do so myself.

Yes - you can purchase another copy of the PS3 version and register it to the same account - they're dirt cheap now - in UK £4 - £5 - and keep it mind that it will also add another 30 days of subscription to your account as well so it's well worth it just for that.

Jut out of curiosity, do I need to buy a physical copy of the game or can I digitally buy a copy of the PS3 version? I feel like I am barred from digital purchase :/

You can indeed buy the digital copy as well but it will cost you at least twice the price of the cheap boxed versions. You can also use this to "upgrade" to CE if you don't have one already.

Egggghhhhhh, I checked most of the places around where I live and it does not look like I would be able to get it for less that $20.00 anyways, lol!

Regardless! I assume I have to go through something like the Square store to buy it and then link the PS3 version to my Mogstation account? Considering that my Playstation Store will not allow me to buy it again, lol.

Oh - if you've already purchased the digital copy I'm afraid you're out of luck ... You don't need the actual game, just the code from the packaging so you can buy it from anywhere and just ask seler to email you the code and keep / ditch the box. SE is not selling the digital copies of the PS3 or PS4 games unfortunatelly.

Hum hum, I could do that. I'm not to sure if I trust the people on the other end though, hahah. I think... if it comes down to it... I may just bite the bullet and try to find a cheap, new, physical copy of the game in a store somewhere and just use the code out of the box :/

As it stands I bought the digital collectors on the PS3 in September, upgraded to the PS4 digital collectors in April, and now just want to be able to play in the other room on the PS3 while the other half does stuff on the PS4, lol.

Well if you're not exactly in rush just look for a bargain. I've got my second PS3 copy of the game on sale for peanuts months prior the PS4 release so I was able to register it back the same day I've upgraded to PS4 plus I have PC version as well so if Sony screws us up with PSN maintenance or when I travell and want to play with better experience than remote play via Vita I can play on PC / Laptop as well.

Actually, if/when I end up picking up another copy of FFXIV for the PS3 and register it, would I be able to play the game on any PS3 at that point? Literally just log into my account and download it onto any PS3, and then log in? I don't see why not :/

Specifically my friend has a PS3 that he is giving me and it does not have FFXIV on it. I literally (following the purchase of a new copy) should be able to just sing into PSN, download, patch, be on my marry little way, correct?
