Just got game, constant dropped connection

Hello all. I'm new to MMO's and PC gaming in general, not to mention this forum, so sorry if I don't provide enough initial info.

I'm basically completely unable to play the game due to connection errors. Half the time I get the lobby error (2002 I believe) and can't even select my character, and the game closes. The other half of the time I can get into the game, but nothing seems to be moving around me and I can walk around for literally a minute or less before a disconnection (error 9000).

I don't have amazing internet, and its speed tends to drop off every 10-30mins. But I'm still able to play other online games just fine, with minor to no lag (dota2, minecraft and tf2 specifically). So at the very least I should be able to get into the game I'd think; I've tried getting on when my internet speed is at its peak and I still have the same problem. admittedly I haven't tried an mmo before on my internet.. so maybe it just cant handle it.

I've heard alot about this game and it seemed like something I'd really enjoy. And I kind of dropped 25 bucks on it... heh... so I'd appreciate any advice to get it working. As of now I've tried every standard solution (reset modem, update firmware, check firewall, etc.) with no success. Thanks for any help in advance.

Where are you from? What carrier do you use? Is it a wireless router or directly connected? If router, what type of router?

Im in NA, in california. and I use comcast. wireless, and no router

Well I do know Comcast and Time Warner both suck connecting to this game. I have TW myself (I think the companies actually merged, worst news ever) and I am forced to use Pingzapper to connect without lagging to hell. It costs money but is worth it imo. Not sure how to fix the issue I was having the same problem where everything would work fine except for this game.

Ah, okay so it's the isp. I'm actually going off to college soon so that's perfect lol, I'll be sure to try a diff service. thanks for the help

EDIT: if anyone still has a more immediate solution thatd be good. lol thought I'd clarify

If it's the ISP there is no solution except using a 3rd party program like pingzapper. There is a 200 page thread about the issue with no resolution.

yeah.. been having a lot of problems with comcast in my area. so it's most likely that. its just that I move literally days after my trial month is over lol. I'll take a look at pingzapper then. thanks again
