Melding materia on low level gear

I have a lot of excese low level mataria for crafting and gathering.

I was just wondering is it worth while melding them on my gear or will I use the low level materia later on in my crafting jobs.

I have the same question for gathering I know this it not the right place but you never know.

I am leveling them all at the same time if that makes any difference?

I suggest either saving or selling the materia. When it comes to getting a master crafter you will need a lot of overmelding. And most of the materia you fail are the low lvl ones. On some servers the lvl 1 and 2 materia sell for more than the lvl 3 materia.

Save em! They are great for attaching to higher level gear to speed up the spiritbonding process.

Convert to materia and save them all, and you will need them all for your lvl 50 AF crafting gears (8 sets).

Definitely save your tier I and II crafting and gathering materia if you plan on being a high level crafter or gatherer. As others have mentioned, you're going to be doing a LOT of overmelding if you want to participate in higher level crafts and gathering, and almost all this overmelding will be using tier I and II materia. I don't know how many materia you have stored up by now, but it's probably not enough. You're going to need to buy more - lots more. :/

If you're not planning on participating in high-level crafting or gathering, I'd recommend selling the materia. Low level materia sells for quite a lot of money - Gatherer's Guerdon I in particular, due to the fact that Retainers need a lot of Gathering materia on their equipment to reach the highest levels of gathering ventures.

Hi thanks for all the reaplys was very helpfull I will keep them all then thanks as I do plan on doing them all to max even though it will take a while lol. Only started when the Ps4 version was realeased so dont think I am doing to bad :-).
