Thread: Favourite parts of 2.28 patch notes?

For a patch that's relatively new content light (barring Exploration Log and Novus Weapons), I'm unexpectedly hype about it. Here's the notes if you haven't looked for yourself.

Here's my favourite, from the bug fixes:

An issue wherein players would not receive a penalty for leaving a duty while other players were still loading into the instance.

I'm also super hype about the PvP changes; they're not going to magically fix PvP, but they are going to make it way more possible to PvP as more than one class and close up some of the gap between new players and experienced ones.

Any other things get you way too excited?

Removing the Skill Speed from my Sphairai Animus... that is, until they announce days later that they're improving Skill Speed & I just wasted millions of gil on the materia used to get rid of it all.

The sightseeing thing was already what I was looking forward to most, but knowing that a delicious new minion will be my reward for doing it sent me through the roof. I have a deep, shameless obsession with minion collection, you see....

A hundred million times this!!!

I've been wanting that minion since the first time I saw it on the wiki. Which has more or less been since launch. And the way to get it is awesome.

Loads of things, as well as already mentioned the Sightseeing Log: -

Ability to filter by category in the crafting log
Being able to preview gear in crafting log, shop windows, item exchange etc

Preferences for hiding or displaying head gear and main/off hand weapons can now be saved to gear sets.
Players can now review which gear sets items are registered to by using the Open Gear Set List subcommand.

Players can now use the Search for Item subcommand when viewing items on the market　board to search for said items in their inventory

Hovering the mouse over a FATE icon on the map will now display the progress for that FATE.
Players can now teleport to aetherytes by clicking their map icons.
Tell history will now be deleted automatically upon registering players to your blacklist.
Players can now delete Tell history using the /cleartellhistory (/cth) text command.
Ability to not have to party with people who you've blacklisted
Macros using the /macroicon command will now display the appropriate icon even if the associated skill cannot be used by your current class or job.

Just some of the things that please me, as well as new change poses! And all the other little tweaks, overall am happy with this patch.

Being able to repair without having to change to that class. It was so annoying finding broken gear in the armory chest...

Hovering the cursor over the weather icon on the minimap now gives an actual description of what that weather is - I'm curious as to how Odin's weather effect will be labelled.

Also the gear preview on the Market Board, the new poses, the extra FATE info on the map screen, the new Sightseeing system and being able to teleport to an aetheryte by opening the map and clicking on it's icon. '

Oh, and the Goblet being jazzed up.

Duty penalty fix, sure is welcome! About PvP, I will wait battlegrounds before start it, as long as I am more for tactical one than bloody arena.
