Redesign Updater Please

Let's face it, this updater is hands down the WORST feature of FFXIV. It should not take 12 hours or more to download a patch, and the download speed should NOT sit at 0 Kb/s for hours on end, especially when most people playing the game have decently fast internet connections. It hasn't seen an update since 9/18/2010, and according to some people who played the beta, it hasn't been improved on at all.

I would like to hear what SE is doing to address this issue, as not all of us are tech-savvy hackers who can manually update the game with a 3rd party torrent.

I wish I knew why everyone has trouble with it. I already finished the download through their own updater for today and it only took about an hour. Hope your issue gets resolved ^^

you guys should be torrenting the file its so easy its within the FF14 folder already once u try to get on FF14 it download the patch which is a torrent an then u just cancel it go to download in your ff14 folder blahblahblah torrent it get like 3mbs an 5mins later its done =D

Which folder is the Torrent file in?

i got the update in less than an hour through the updater.. sounds like something is wrong with your connection... try opening all the proper ports on your router.

I have, I have manually set my firewall to allow the game through, I currently have my security software turned OFF, and my download speed is non-exsistant. I'm a second from turning off my router and restarting.

10 minutes? Nice! I had other stuff running so it might have slowed it down, but updates normally are 30-60 minutes.

Why don't u just utorrent it like the alpha an beta users do xD ive been here since almost forever an i hear people use that downloader from SE even they know there downloader sucks that while they give us an open file when u start it to torrent it, it's much faster but i guess in some cases SE's downloader is good it's not for me so i torrent it an it only takes about 5mins to download the 1gb patchs from back then but ive seen a change in there patch seeders from back then it used to be like 3k seeders i torrented today now it was only around 900total but maybe i just got on to early -_-'
