    Best blm aoe rotation for SR?

    So I've been doing the following aoe rotation:
    Quelling strikes -> fire 3 -> raging strikes -> fire 2 x3 (IIRC) -> flare -> swiftcast -> convert -> flare -> mega ether -> flare -> transpose -> blizzard 2, repeat.

    However I've seen a blm do a flare only rotation (I watched and noticed they were not ice flares, he did fire 3 before his flares). And I was wondering which is better? I usually use my main for speed runs (scholar) but I've had fun with blm for the past few days. I'm not really experience with blm and that's why I am seeking advice.

    I've done basically the same rotation you're using except after transpose, I just hardcast FIII and then another flare if need be. At that point, everything is dead, so no need for UI3.

    I've also been working on a "flare only" rotation that someone showed me. Basicallly you do the FIII, flare, convert/swiftcast flare, transpose, wait until 2 seconds after the first tic and cast a cold flare, then you get an mp tick back, hot flare, repeat. Haven't had a chance to test its effectiveness.

    I've found that the best rotation depends highly on your party situation. If you have a decent dps ally and your whm is able to cast a couple of Holys, a triple flare should be enough to drop the group. If you're having to carry more than your fair share of aoe, you probably want to start with f2's.

    With a 2 blm group, both can skip the f2's and just go for triple flare. I usually save swiftcast for the 3rd flare, that way a mob doesn't die while you're casting and ruin it.

    right but if you burn a manapot for a triple flare, then when you get to the 2nd group, you don't have convert or a manapot available.

    FIII-FII (repeat)-Flare-transpose-swift cast-flare-convert-flare-transpose (wait 2) - flare- (mana tick)-(repeat)

    insert cds wherever you see fit.

    This is near the best damage rotation, you will average higher if you open with convert>flare>transpose and then do the flare forever after instead of transpose swiftcast that 2nd flare, At least I do in my runs, I've tried most rotations. With 2 blm and a WHM in bray, you probably won't finish either so it really doesn't matter, as noted in later posts, so this is good too.

    agreed that certain rotations are situational but many of times i do a 3x flare
    With First flare being after my multiple Fire 2's are cast, so when low on mp i cast first flare>convert>swiftcast flare> Mega ether> Flare
    You do in fact loose some dps (which i don't have exact numbers) if using a flare after transpose
    And 3x flares are more so for large pulls like for instance Brayflox HM comes to mind, 2blm's doing 3x flares, stuff dies fairly quick

    unless the other dps is under geared, I have never finished the forth flare during any of the pull. Like what Maero said, after 3rd flare, you should only have 2-3 mobs left standing with very little of hp points

    It's mostly dependant on the group (i.e. is the rest of the party doing good dps, is there a whm spamming Holy etc), I have tried the "unlimited flare" rotation and find it to be a dps loss (not huge, but enough to put me off using it) vs the rotation in the opening post.
