Honestly, why do some people find it so offensive when others actually expect competent play? It really isn't to much to ask. And it's not about being l33t #1 dps world beaters. It's about being competent when on other people's time.

I've ran a bunch of roulette and do them daily as they are daily bonuses with them all. But use duty finder almost all the time and see:
    http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...sorts-of-Chaos

But to say they don't care about their performance is a bit presumptuous isn't it? How do you know they don't care? And to assume they get mad at you for giving advice, that is also very rare. Problem is what seem like advice to you sounds like cussing to them, especially if it sound like "wtf 1 heal only!?" or "wtf slow down" or "wtf use blizzXYZ" etc.

And seriously, unless you are failing some DPS check to clear a boss, you don't need maxed out DPS e-peen numbers, you want a party that plays nice and smooth. Performance is not just max numbers. You go wag you e-peen and pull hate off the tank, have fun! See:
    http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...rol-your-aggro

Perhaps the real question is what does performance mean to you? Have you played healer and tank as well as DPS and being undergeared or new, and really know what they all have to deal with? Or have you forgotten. What does performance really mean in the context of all that?

Somtimes less is more and it could be that your expectations are just unreasonable. Let people play for fun. Don't stress them out. This not some e-sport like SC2 or heaven forbid SC/BW where you need massive APM and can't misclick or miss a mouse click.

I make sure my tone isn't hostile when I give advice, because I been there and it's hard to swallow if someone sounds like they're pissed. And if they actually care about their performance, they should atleast take my suggestion and give a shot and see for themselves.

I can assure you that I played every single class/job and I have the basic understanding of what it's like. The other thing is that the people I encounter are NOT undergeared(i90+), neither was the party. I highly doubt you can consider that "new"

I don't expect them to be on a "MLG" level, but I don't think it's too much to ask to just use a different strategy. I mean really, it's just 2 or 3 more buttons.

There are some people seriously new even with iLevel90 gear. They can farm tomestone on their main and is now trying their alt and just experimenting with stuff. And with the new PS4 players, some of them don't even have a KB and typing replies/responses can usually be minutes later. And 2 or 3 buttons more on a controller can be challenging for players too. So they make do with what they got. I go in with lowered expectations and be pleasantly surprised. Only the trolls that somehow like to go mess round on CT for some unknown reason seems to be the biggest problems. I think they like the audience/victims of 23 others.

Sometimes if you get a newbie player or two in a hard primal, it can be pretty fun. If they can't stay alive it makes the fight longer, harder and more exciting. If they need more than four raises though, I have to start conserving my mp. However, when it comes to harder content and someone is obviously loss, it sucks because sometimes it just takes that one person being off to keep everyone from a win. I think i'm too nice to kick anyone from a party though unless maybe it was troll level messing up.

If ppl want to control all variables regarding the pt; play with only ppl whom you are familiar with, friends, FC, or to the extreme, an offline version of FF may be more appealing. Well, actually, I take the latter back, the majority of the main characters in the FF series were annoying to me....I would take a "lax' pt member over Tidus any day.

But seriously; you cannot control all variables in a mmorpg, unless you octa-box or something.

For me I strictly level my jobs in dungeons to 50 as a personnel rule that way it make sure I know my role, also I tell my friends to do the same as a suggestion there's always room to improve and refine you hot bar and macro's as you level up etc.

    1. Just earlier, a black mage NEVER uses Fire III/Blizzard III and use tranpose and build up stacks with Fire I/Blizzard I.

    2. And then a day ago, a dragoon using chaos thrust without their combo.

    3. Then there's also white mages that just use Cure II and Cure III as single heal.

    4. What surprise me about them all is that they're all atleast i90, and some even has a whooping 7 sold pieces.

I just don't understand, why don't people just atleast try? I don't really care for speed runs, but I don't find it enjoyable when dungeons take 40 - 50 minutes. And I highly doubt anyone can consider that fun.

And I am by no mean claiming myself to be some sort of "great player", but atleast I do my best to maximize my DPS when I do play.

    /rant
1 and 2 are most likely crappy dps.

    3. could it be that you were not seeing cure I and perhaps focused on the free heals of cure II if procd? otherwise was the whm dpsing as well? if so then cure II would be the best way to get the tank back up to full and keep dpsing.

    4. gear =/= skill. that much should be true of any game that you play. some people are just bad.

*Spams Cure III, ignores Cure I and II, runs out of mp too quick, party dies 5 times in a row*
"Use Cure I to chain with Cure II and II to chain with III"
"Shush, I paid my money, I play how I want!"

*Runs into Goomba and dies 5 times in a row*
    "Press A to jump!"
"Shush, I paid my money, I play how I want!"

    Sounds legit.
