Ok, that's enough SE, seriously.

At level 11 my retainer single-handedly defeated Ifrit (whom I hadn't even unlocked yet) and brought back Ifrit's axe for me.

As soon as my retainer hit level 50, he started bringing back fish. Just fish. Oh, except for that one time when he brought back a single Allagan Tin Piece (25gil).

Enough is enough.

Please, please for the love of all things holy, stop the retainers from bringing back fish??

I quit the retainers thingies for the exact same reason. I bought and additional retainer (Not a good idea). It's fish all the time. Sometimes the three of them bring me fish... it's just annoying. So, f*** it.

Well, atleast it isn't like quick ventures where there's a huge pool of things you're able to get. And since furniture and fish fill up probably 45% of them means you will most likely get them.

my retainer is bad for bring me all kinds of fish too, sometimes i will get a cheap houseing item, but a majority of the time its fish

I think like 2 items that sold for ~60k. A few ~20k materia. But yeah. Nothing but fish and housing junk.
