Is anybody else put off my Expert Roulettes...

    because of people's attitudes?

It seems every time I do them, I have a horrific experience. People are only set on speed running things, and it's just needlessly stressful and unpleasant, because the moment something fails, all they do is yell at each other.

Went into my roulette this morning as a healer, and the tank was doing a pretty sloppy job. (It was Brayflox HM), so one of the DPS proceeded to yell at him, then both DPS vote-kicked him (I seem to be the only one who voted no) and we ended up without a tank...

Since then, I've been pretty discouraged from doing Expert Roulette, since most of my experiences are like that...

Before I could handle curing the SR pulls, I simply told them they may want to keep the pulls smaller unless they want to die since I wasn't that practiced with it yet. Never had anyone rage at me.

I actually do still prefer breaking up a couple of the pulls, but being upfront and honest with people first saves a lot of headache down the road.

Yeah, the pretty small bonus just isn't worth the hassle. The fact that you don't even get the reward until the end of the dungeon is always looming over you putting you on the edge of your seat at every little argument or bitchy comment made between party members.

I'd much rather just do an extra run with people I know.

Yeah I feel pretty much the same at this point. :/ I wish people weren't always so unpleasant.

Roulettes aren't just a gamble for dungeons anymore, it's also wondering if you'll be lucky enough to have a pleasant run.

Can only remember a couple of poor experiences

-A Brayflox HM went awry because the healer was spam healing himself or using Holy instead of healing the tank. After a few trash wipes they got into a fight that was basically "USE YOUR COOLDOWNS NOOB" vs. "Or you could actually heal me even just once". Tank died on the first boss, slowly, while healer was busy raging about how well he was doing his job. We vote kicked, replaced rather quickly, and carried on.
-A Diabolos battle wherein the healer insisted on 'helping' us do doors. Was constantly opening a door when he shouldn't have been, marking over other marks, basically being a nuisance. He did stop after the 2nd wipe though and we finished.
-Tank called us generally terrible after we failed to kill the large bomb after an LB skip failed. I mean, he was right... I'm not sure how we blew it that badly. Killed it second pull though so whatever.

So to answer your question, no. Expert Roulette is generally smooth sailing from what I've seen. Typically no one even says anything beyond some initial {Hello!}s, let alone anything shabby.

Honestly I'm way more put off by high level roulette than expert.

I honestly think kick option is killing the game, the semi new and old players who get kicked and left behind are the people who do roulette.

All the good players already advanced, they kick out the players who mess up or they make a elite party in duty finder.

the other half either quit or just wait till they gimp the runs, I try to do coil 3 but nobody does it anymore because everyone has advanced.

The kick option was made for people who went afk or fell asleep instead its made for attacking people, these people don't report because they feel its a waste of time, I think so also.

I am sure they player comes back after being suspended to continue to kick people.

Matter of fact its getting harder and harder to get into duty's.

I once waited 1 hour, I started to remember final fantasy 11 when I was sitting there flagged up and having to go to a zone and shout if anyone have free spots in their party soon.

Kick option isn't killing the game. People's shitty attitudes and elitist behavior is killing the game. If you're going into the roulette expecting a speedrun group, you're doing it wrong. If you want that, start up a Party Finder. People need to stop dragging everyone into their own play style. It just makes it stressful for everyone.

Yes, meaning the kick option is ruining the game, they are basically giving them the power to weed out the players who struggle, in FFXI even if you died nobody kicked them out of the party got up wait till weakness wears off go again.

While they weed out the bad players, all the good players advance and everyone else who will struggle besides some of the good players who do get left behind try to carry them.

some give up and some leave back to FFXI, the ones who advanced do not go back and play the same runs over again. nothing benefits them if they got all their stuff. they wait for next content, they don't care who they have to kick out of the party to burn through content. Also some don't wanna do the runs because they don't wanna be kicked or judged because they mess up because everyone demands you to be perfect.

As long as it goes smooth for them they don't wanna carry anyone they wanna leave the burden on other bad players, which once you die too many time people get fed up and leave, causing longer waits for duty and less pld's and healers to come to the run, I get 4 dps, zero healers and zero paladins always on coil 3 waiting around 2 hours I flag down log out of game.

I've stopped doing anything but low-level roulette. I don't mind tanking (or healing) for those who are just learning the game, but the attitude I get in higher-level content bugs the smurf out of me. This morning, one of my Shellies needed to do a Coperbell HM run, because she was working on her Animus book. So I said okay, and the two of us DF'ed as a pair and picked up two randoms. Our first healer dropped as soon as it was revealed that one person in the party hadn't been in the dungeon before. Then the DD was giving me crud about not making bigger pulls, and dropped when I pointed out that we were struggling as a group just with three or four monsters at a time. Fortunately, both were replaced by agreeable people, and we finished the run smoothly. But that element of chance in getting vocally cruddy players... it's just not worth it, most of the time.
