A Relic Reborn Questline

I just looked on a relic quest walk through and thats all I was able to do. I remember that much

Quest log says:
"Gerolt has reluctantly agreed to lend his expertise to the restoration of a legendary arm of yore. For the first step, the weaponsmith bids you venture within Zaha'rak in Southern Thanalan to retrieve the lost Timeworn Curtana. Examine treasure coffers to find your prize."

I never got the quest. Is it something i can do without the quest active?
