Returning legacy player - cannot locate character

Hi all,
I've played through 1.0, got past level 30 and attained my Goobbue mount, played the beta and am only now getting back in to the game.

When I log in I am unable to locate my previous character (neither in game, now in account management/server transfer). Did I miss the boat on this part of the transition?
Will I have to start another character and forfeit my mount?

Can you remember what server your Legacy character was on? A good way to find out is to log into your account on the Mogstation and it will show all characters attached to the account, along with the server they're currently on. Armed with this information, you then have to find what 'data center' group your server is now a part of (in the 2.1 patch servers were grouped into 'data centers' which you select on the main title screen - doing so will only show the servers attached to that specific data center on the character screen, so it's possible you're just set for the wrong data center at the moment), and then set it accordingly.

Unfortunately I don't have a list of what data center has what servers at this time, but I'm searching so just bare with me.

Also note that 3 extra servers were also added after that when the PS4 version was launched: Shinryu (Mana server group), Jenova (Aether server group) and Zodiark (Chaos server group), but these are 'new' servers that you cannot transfer an existing or Legacy character to at this time.

Thanks for the info Enkidoh.
However, my character is nowhere to be seen (refer to attached image).
I'm 80% sure he was on Sargatanas. 100% sure his name was Plevacon one.

Hmm, that is strange - it should list your character there (as it's showing you with Legacy status, yet your character doesn't exist). You might have to contact SE's Support about this as it's possible your character might have gotten lost in the transfer from 1.0. ; ;

Just logged in to Sargatanas and my character magically appeared.. Odd but fixed!

Oh great! That's wonderful, I'm glad you got your Legacy character back!

Incidentally if you want your Legacy character's avatar and info to show up under your name just click 'Settings' under 'Welcome' at the top right corner of this page (next to button that says 'Logout'), and then click 'Edit Character' from the list on the left hand side, and then choose your desired character from the list, along with which class you want shown as well, and then click 'Save Changes'. From then on every post you make will show your character's current in-game appearance as your avatar.
