I just had a run in Lost City where two people were completely new to the duty. We wiped on Diabolos twice, but we got it done. It was pretty good, everybody was patient and friendly.

I suppose it's a matter of the luck of the draw as to who you get. The last times I've landed in any expert roulette duty it was never a speed run, usually there's at least one person sub-ilvl70 and running those to gear up, so speedruns are usually not as viable with them. If I see that and someone cries for a speedrun the moment the duty begins, I kindly and frankly tell them that I don't see a speedrun being feasible, and being usually the tank or healer, I get a certain amount of say concerning the pace at which we complete it.

Keyword being "most". Sometimes people complain just to make sure they're not the only ones being put down by other people's attitudes. I was seriously starting to think I might be exceptionally unlucky with my PUG groups. My friend, who runs most of her roulettes as a tank, gets absolutely no issues, while I, as a healer, am almost always a witness of clashes between DPS and tanks... It gets pretty daunting, and I think I deserve a right to express my discontentment without fingers being pointed at me...

I don't do it because I don't want to end up in brayflox because I promised myself I won't ever go there ever again.

if you're new and you're learning, it helps to let others know, running into a SR and keeping mum is acknowledgement that you do this all the time and is experienced.

The only thing that is off putting about Expert Roulette is the lack of incentive. With people speed running Brayflox full runs, there's no reason to want the bonus from Duty Roulette. Even Low Level/High Level have shorter queue times than Expert.

I've yet to experience any problems with Expert Roulette...then again, its probably because I usually always que as a Tank for it. So since I haven't experienced any complaints, I'll just be assuming I've been doing a decent enough job.

And I've also been trying to avoid Brayflox HM in the DF whenever I'm not a tank. God knows how bad it can get, since its such a popular spot to farm myths/soldiery.

i never have any problems, expert is actually my favorite roullette to do. although i generally go as i90 blm or i97 pld, so i SR all the time lol but generally in most of my runs nobody says enything. i can SR with meelees, SR with a couple of undergeared people, whatever. The only time i really have to look if the group can handle it is if im tnk, an my healer is in really really low gear. If im on blm it dont matter it ends up being a SR no matter what cuz nothing to do but move on when everything is dead. Low Level an High Level are the ones I'm usually reluctant to do actually. Seems like 50% of the time I enter either those i get full pts of first timers who have no idea about the runs, especially if i get a HM in High Level roullette. Seeing first timers wipe over an over to first boss in Copperbell HM even after explaining is frustrating as hell lol

It.. oftentimes depends on circumstances but I can definitely see where you're coming from x.x

I don't like the roulettes where no-one speaks... at all. Like not even a hi in return or.. well, they'll get a polite apology from me and I'll slip out.

But that said I find it often depends on class. Worst of all is when I'm in Paladin mode.. I've had players drag monsters onto me because they want to speedrun - again without a word - and just.. blagh.

Yes, Expert roulette has the potential to be awful x.x

When you do roulette, you need just to take account the "Brayflox Longstop (Hard)" is the place in which all the worse of the internet goes to play.

When you start play there with that on mind, you will be more distressed. My last run the Tank started running even without Protection on (he told why: he were bored to wait me cast it and so decided to start anyway [talking of about 5-6s from duty start notice]), and aggroed ALL the map until the gate, burned its cooldowns while running (essentially, wasting them) then died, and obviously raged at me (healer). Who cares, I know that map a cove of raging kids so I really don't care what happens there, and if it happens a smooth run, it is just a lucky one.
