The same could be said for Conjorers, Thamaturges, and Archanist. They draw from the Aetheir of other fources, like the conjorers do with elementals and thamaturges with the Void it's self, and the Archanist would draw from latient, stagnate, or dorment aethier in their general surrounding (Think taking Ions out of the air rather than Electrons off of the attoms them selves.).

It's explicitly mentioned that thaumaturge uses your own aether. Also, as I've mentioned before, black and white magic are noteworthy for draining the aether of the surrounding environment, so it's highly unlikely that arcanist does too and everyone in-game just ignores that. Far more likely is that, like thaumaturge, they use their own aether, channeled through the mystic patterns in the book, to fuel their spells.
