Said the man, insisting that lore wasn't important in the forum specifically created for lore discussion, for a game in a series of games that is renowned for having a lot of lore (Even if the lore isn't always particularly good), and of which belongs in a genre that is expected to have expansive lore.

Kind of a silly thing to say, particularly when there's an actual answer. While there is such a thing as storyline/gameplay segregation, the only way to find that line in the sand is to ask questions about it.
