class quests

Recently, I've been looking at class quests, and I was wondering why my characters primary class (ACN) has a final quest at Lv30, and there are others that end at Lv50, I have skills in MRD, GLA, THM and ARC also, as well as 2 crafting classes.
I'm hoping to concentrate on the other classes and take a break from the primary class shortly.

Because Job Quests begin at level 30. Jobs are the progression of classes.

Crafter and gatherer get class quests till 50, fighters just to 30 because they pick a job there which got quests to 50 aswell. Conjurers become Whitemages, Archer becomes Bard etc. To unlock a job you need to level a 2nd class to 15, for example level 30 Thaumaturge and level 15 Archer for Blackmage.

I'm thinking about increasing the skill quite a bit with the Archer skill (currently Lv3) anyway, before progressing further with the main skill.

The primary class for a given job has to be at least level 30 to unlock the job. It shares the same level and XP as the job, and all its class skills are available to the job (as normal skills — not cross-class).
The secondary class has to be at least level 15 to unlock the job, and it's available to pull cross-class skills from.
The tertiary class isn't required, but can be used to pull cross-class skills from in the same way as the secondary class.

Warrior: Marauder (primary) + Gladiator (secondary) + Pugilist (tertiary)
Paladin: Gladiator (primary) + Conjurer (secondary) + Marauder (tertiary)
Monk: Pugilist (primary) + Lancer (secondary) + Marauder (tertiary)
Dragoon: Lancer (primary) + Marauder (secondary) + Pugilist (tertiary)
Bard: Archer (primary) + Pugilist (secondary) + Lancer (tertiary)
White Mage: Conjurer (primary) + Arcanist (secondary) + Thaumaturge (tertiary)
Black Mage: Thaumaturge (primary) + Archer (secondary) + Arcanist (tertiary)
Summoner: Arcanist (primary) + Thaumaturge (secondary) + Archer (tertiary)
Scholar: Arcanist (primary) + Conjurer (secondary) + Thaumaturge (tertiary)

If your primary class is Arcanist then you first need to decide whether you want to play Summoner (caster dps) or Scholar. (healer) That will determine which classes you need to level next. (THM or CNJ) MRD and GLA won't help with ACN but they'll help each other.

It doesn't matter what order you level things in. When they say secondary class, they just mean it's a class that needs to be leveled to unlock the job, but is not the primary class the job upgrades.

Also, you can unlock every job and play every class. So Arcanist can unlock both Scholar and Summoner.
