I agree, but with things as is, companies are going to want to make more money, no matter how right or wrong that maybe. I just want it, when the eventually do, to not destroy the game.
That is generally my point.Don't care as long as they do not EVER release anything that affects battle. Vanity, fantasia, retainers, couldn't care less. Hope se make loads of money off their cash shop, which will in turn possibly fund future updates and hopefully make the chances of going f2p even slimmer <--never gonna happen anyways....
Instead of cash shops or some other pointless form of micro transactions because we all already pay a subscription fee. There should be a way to create a "poll" players can "vote" for content that the dev team will agree that it is reasonable to focus on for a major patch aside from what they have planned.
For example.
Drop related.
Primal vanity Gear.
Primal minions.
Primal barding.
Ramuh's epic beard.
Long Hair.
Votes decide which gets priority.
Content specific
Favour system
Open world dungeons
Primal FATEs
so on and so on.
I find it incredible that OP, who is so vehemently against "P2W retainers" is now talking about implementing a fully fledged cash shop! Personally I think a vanity based cash shop is worse than their P2W issues like retainers. I can still get myself on even footing with people buying extra retainers by playing through the game as intended. Whereas no matter how well I do in the game, no matter how many times I beat every turn in Coil, no matter how much I do of anything, I will never be able to get those cash shop items without paying real life money. And I just don't think that's fair. This is a P2P game, if they want to start adding cash shop stuff then go F2P.
I would like to see Square Enix sell GIL!!!!
Put an end to RMT tells!
I think they should honestly add an alternative to paying for your subscription similar to how Wildstar and Tera Online do/did. This would be an item you could buy on the cash shop and sell on the market place where the item upon use would apply 30 days to your account.
The good thing about this is that it would effectively strike a huge blow to RMT
You really don't get it, don't you? They are not gonna create items especially for the cash shop, they are going to make items that would be available in game "for free" (to buy with gil/get with quests, etc) into the cash shop instead. Minions like bluebird or the opo-opo would be cash-shopped instead.
I get it completely, it seems to be "Do you know how they would implement this? Because there are right and wrong ways to do it." v. "OMG! I know they are going to do it like this and completely screw us all over!". I'm simply arguing that if they do decide to implement a cash shop and offer vanity items along side what vanity items they already release and continue to release, what is the issue? You really don't get it, don't you? They are not gonna create items especially for the cash shop, they are going to make items that would be available in game "for free" (to buy with gil/get with quests, etc) into the cash shop instead. Minions like bluebird or the opo-opo would be cash-shopped instead.
