Acceptable Cash Shop Items: Suggestions!

Absolutely nothing. We pay a subscription for a reason. Devs should never ever put anything in a cash shop in a sub game with the rare exception that it be 100% attainable without paying and offer zero game benefit beyond visuals.

FF14 shouldn't need a cash shop

1) We get vanity outfits for our subscriptions and earn the sets by running dungeons, the only reason I can find for people wanting this is because they don't want to farm the same few dungeons for a specific piece of the set they want to just glamour what they are wearing and forget about it.

2) To the person wanting an EXP booster. We already have a boosted EXP buff called "rested EXP" from just logging out in a sanctuary area, with this and the helm of light from the collectors edition I cant see a need for another EXP booster to be available for purchase.


The only things that should be available in the mogstation imo is the ability to change your name ONE time (cause sometimes you have one person that messed up on their character name or gets bored with their name, etc.), server changes, and fantasia. Retainers are kinda toeing the line already.

Of course you don't NEED exp boosters. That is why it is acceptable in a cash shop, because it would be an optional service nobody is forced to use.

If for some reason you get really tired of leveling, but want to reach the cap, you could pay money for speeding it up.

The expansion after such a feature is added, the level cap will go up and they'll raise the xp/per level formula by a factor of 100 and lower the xp per quest and kill by a factor of 10. It's happened to every game I've played that has started to offer such things. The accountants get control and it happens every single time. That's why there is no such thing as a good cash shop.
