Now that I started doing pvp I want tips and advice from ppl more experienced. I also want to know if you've had any really good games recently that you'd wanna share so I figured I'd start a thread where we could chat about anything regarding pvp!

Today I've had a 60% winrate (30 games so far) and last week I was at around 45-50%. I'm not sure if I'm improving or if I get better teammates haha but it sure feels great being on fire

Working on a guide for people starting out in my link shell. I find myself repeating the same things over and over 2-3 times a day for the members we pick up each day. So I've decided to just write up all the basics tips I give each member.

I expect to have a rough draft out in the next week or so for the community to debate and add to.

The guide will cover a wide range of things such as:

Rumor Mill:

Match making tips:
Mean, median, maxing exp, friendlies, Alternative rule sets, win trading, exp gain per hour. Specific time frames before match making lowers its match making standards (the real reason ques are broken)

Community building:
Starting out: Recuitment, leadership roles, communication macro/voice chat, Respect between new members/experienced players.

Medium/Larger community: Leadership, Trainers, Mascots, Team Colors, effective ways to get high ranked and new players to play with each other, Abrasive personalities, Kicking Members, linkshell/fc
restrictions.

Data center communities:

Gearing up: Brackets, BiS, Effective ways to spend your points. Morale.

Job tips: Macros, Roles, PvP skills, Tactics, countering specific skills/tactics, effective skill combos. Effective communication for both voice chat players, and text chat players. Text chat advice also helps when solo quing.

Also I agree with you Mirili, yesterday I played alot with and against three persons from odin and after I had got into their team twice and we won both they said things like "You rock Kiara!" which made it even more fun to play. I hope I get grouped up with them again sometime

Today I got a bard with almost full ilvl 100 pvp gear in my team, above rank 36 I think. That was weird cause I'm only rank 14, and we won that one quiet easy

if that was vs me ( whm white ) my mouse was misfonctionning , i didn t cast any spell , it was realy fast yes lol

But thats didn t means anything to play a party vs a team without any healer , i was sitting because could not play the only heal was my cast hot before the start

I'm still just above 50% winrate, meself. Been queue'ing solo as SCH the past couple weeks.

I know everyone says the Datacenters are the death of PvP, but I gotta say I like seeing the familiar faces. Lots of friendly people on Aether. Some people's comments made me tear up, haha. I kept matching up with people in all yellow outfits, and they explained it was their server's color. Still see them sometimes. Inspired me to take up this nasty green color for my outfit. Unless we already have one, I'm claiming Moss Green as Goblin's official color! It's so awful, and it's so Goblin.

Oh, and I'm always interested in tips for SCH, or healers in general. Especially from people that've personally played hide and seek with me.

Also, good idea for a thread. Surprised we didn't already have one like this.

Me and 3 of my coil static buddies started PvPing just recently and are really enjoying the change of pace. Sure it might be a bit linear (kill healer first and you basically win, unless there is a SMN in the party) but it's one of the only things we have that isn't scripted and adds a bit of challenge and strategy.

So yesterday we basically PvPed all evening. Queues were slow at first but picked up in prime time. We got into a match with a 4man that must have joined the wrong win-trade group :\ They were all naked and we slaughtered them in 15 seconds for an easy 100 marks lol.

The highlight of the night was we found a 4man group in Balmung that we ended up playing about 15 times in a row. The first fight we won. Mind you, we were ALL in i55 PvP gear and there were all in mostly i100 PvE. We out-skilled them basically. Then we insta-popped the light party queue and got the same group. They basically owned us 4 times in a row after that. This is when we realized that their i100 PvE was better than our i55 PvP gear. We re-geared into our PvE sets (all of us are around i96-i99) and didn't lose a single match after that. We beat them about 10 times in a row (for quick/easy marks!!!) and we finally ran them out of the queue.

So yeah, basically we dominated Balmung server last night

I'm claiming Moss Green as Goblin's official color! It's so awful, and it's so Goblin.

I don't know about that ugly green color, but my group has been rocking the Royal Blue. But since last night and doing some research, I won't be gearing into PvP gear until I have enough for i90 at least and the rank high enough to wear it.

I find it easier to survive when using ilvl 70 gear insted of my main pve gear (ilvl96) Even though I lose about 1k hp. As a healer.
