XI Crossover Idea

The Crystal Tower got me to thinking, would anyone other than me want to visit some of the fights/places/HNM/Bosses of Vana'diel in XIV?

Perhaps do some sort of crossover with having Shantotto having to bring us into an FFXI BCNM to fight some of that worlds battles with XIV graphics and mechanics.

I personally think it would be awesome fan service for those of us that played XI, and a neat semi-look into the game for those that didn't.

Personally I feel it's more like trying to make XI into XIV really. I just thought it would be awesome to have a reason to fight AV or PW within the scope and game-play style of XIV. I'd love to see some of that world with XIV's graphical capability, like a pseudo sequel to XI, without actually being a sequel. Much like how CT is to III, I mean for it to be something similar to that for XI. Maybe that's just me though.

Other than having NM's, I like XIV how it is, even though I still play XI and enjoy the game immensely since I started playing back at release, I don't want to copy over much if anything from the game.

I don't think we've seen the last of Shantotto. They left that *very* open ended.

FFXI is still operational , no point to make XI from XIV , just go play XI

I was kinda bummed we didn't get any vanity gear from the XI crossover event. It would've been fun to have everyone running around in scorpion harnesses and O hats or something.

I hope they do another one sometime.

I think FFXI is still too fresh to be ripping stuff directly from it. Nostalgia is a powerful thing, just let the dev team continue to create original content. (although they seem to be taking a lot of influence from FF3 in the case of Crystal Tower, but a lot of people haven't played that game so it's not such a bad thing I think)

I think it would be interesting to see them redo some of the more memorable and epic fights in something like CT or another classic/retro themed dungeon.

Bringing in idea from XI would be a great idea..


But all the people who never played XI feel it was one of the worst mmo ever made.

Unless the content came from WoW it is 100% no go in XIV. WoW Clone only.

I think it would be awesome to see quite a few fights that are from previous FF games. Maybe one old-timey fight per new dungeon. Most of us have played the majority of the games and would love to see the fights with crazier mechanics and better graphics. I'm not sure if they could work everything into the lore, but personally, I wouldn't care if they could or couldn't. I'd just love to relive some things from the good ole days.
