[QOL Suggestion] /anonymous, can i have it?

this game needs a feature or command that allows you to go anonymous. other MMO's have it and its a great feature to allow for some in game privacy.

i dont always want people to know what zone im in. whether its open world or an instance, sometimes its nice to be able to fly under the radar.i dont always want random players to be know what jobs i have unlocked so that they can send me tells about joining their random group or FC. i dont always want people to know what FC i am in or if i am in an FC at all. i dont always want people i dont know to be able to send me tells

if this game had a /anonymous command i feel like we would be afforded a lot more in game privacy. plenty of other MMO's have them and their benefits are obvious. some features could include

hiding your location in player search and on FC/LS/friends list
hiding your job/search info when inspected
hiding your FC tag and info when inspected
only allow people on friends list to send /tell

so, can i have it?

if you're worried about trolling, that happens anyways. legitimate trolls do not care about their online ID's reputation. in fact they feed on people knowing they are trolls and having that moniker attached to them. case and point: Crystal Tower

if anything, being able to go /anon would be more of a safeguard from the trolls. it would make it a lot more difficult for the malicious ones to find/track you

sure blacklist works, but dont think people arent beyond creating new characters just to troll people. i have friends that have been followed to new servers by people that disliked them just so that they could grief them on a new server

what you had and if you were in an FC, they could pull up Lodestone and there it is. SE would have
to somehow link Anon with Lodestone to update and black everything out, but the Lodestone also
isn't instant.

Not saying I disagree with /anon, as we had it in XI, but with Lodestone ready and available it would
be really difficult to actually hide things like jobs or what FC you are in (if any).

valid counter point. i guess that is something to consider, but even if it only affected in-game features it could still benefit. its mainly a deterrent for randoms sending tells to people they search and to some extent it could even curb RMT spam

Indeed! I see no harm in having some form of /anon function similar to FFXI. It never broke that game, I
don't think it would break this one either.

True there are other games that has some of these features. The most obvious thing that everyone wants to get rid of: Gil sellers and spammers.

The rest: it's an MMO. Insert lots of peeps beside you.

Interacting with others could help you get a job in the real world, if you add in your resume: Yes, I am a team player.

I agree as well for the Equipment check up. I wouldn't care if others didn't use this for judging your capabilities to down a trial/dungeon/whatever. That is negative and should be fixed.

For invites that we receive and are not happy with: /blist. (please SE, make blist up to 500, or please make it so we can report bots/gil sellers more easily, so we would have less peeps on our blist. Thank you.)

To see who you are and from which FC you choose to be in and represent: all normal and good.

If you are completely anomymous, you could give the finger to anyone and be more rude than what we already have in the game. (nope)

Sorry to hear that, but report - harassment. With what you just mentionned here, in about 15-20min they will receive a tell from a GM and then. Perma ban.

Now if they still wants to open another account just to harass: you do the same. If they are Millionaires, then bad luck. (IP ban would be another option) Otherwise they will find easier prey that won't report them.
