FC Has Same Tag As Mine on a Technicality. Why is this allowed?!

So in October I created an FC called Dark Aeons with the tag <AEONS>.

As I understand it, an fc cannot choose a name or tag if that name is already in use, as I tried before way back to test it. In February, an FC named Order of Bahamut was formed, and their tag was/still is <Aeons>. Why is this allowed? Clearly if we're not allowed to use same tags we shouldn't be allowed to use it just because some letters are capitalized versus uncapitalized right?

Is there any way some GM can take care of this? Or maybe devs can patch this so you cant have the same sequence of letters regardless of capitalization? I'm being swagger-jacked

Edit: Some of my previous assumptions were corrected. Original question still stands; Why is this allowed? Pretty easy way to cause confusion imo.

LOL. i know it's not the end of world, but it's irked me for some time. If we're not supposed to be able to duplicate the same names and tag names, then they should at least block this workaround >_<

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I always thought it was common knowledge that two FCs could technically use the same tag/acronym. However, all names must be 100% unique. I vaguely remember seeing a few FCs running around with the same tag back when the game first launched.

Even if that is the case, you'd think people would avoid using the same tag ... if only to prevent confusion.

Tags aren't locked, don't even need to change the capitalization to use the same tag as another FC.

You are correct, the tags can be the same, but the names cannot. For a longtime there was a FC on my server that had the exact same tag, capitalazation an everything. Fortunatly for us, that FC died out a longtime ago an now we are the only ones with our tag

Oh? I tried using a tag name way back and I couldnt :/. I'll try again and see what happens. Still think it's weird to be allowed the same tag if that's the case >_<

They should just remove tags... Have;

<Title A>
<Player Name>
<Title B>
<Full Free Company Name>

They can easily change the font size of the Free Company name under the players name to make it less intrusive. And by "Title A" and "Title B" I don't mean having two titles, I mean the two different types of titles, some go before the name, some go after. I'm sure there are PS3 limitations or some such ridiculousness preventing this though, so we're stuck with tags that can be completely pointless as long as two Free Companies can have the same tag.

I had two other FCs with the exact same tagname as name, so I changed it. Actually, our tag changes every week depending on my whim.
