I'm on a legacy server but DF sometimes puts me with players from other servers. The best way to learn is to join a FC or Linkshell with experienced players that can answer your questions.
It's great to read posts like this. My contribution to newbies is generally in the crafting world, I'll look at their level and then craft some HQ gear and hand it to them, admittedly it's often viewed with suspicion, and to be fair I'd be the same, but it does make you feel better when you know you've helped someone, especially as we were all that newbie ourselves once.

Hi, I'm in Odin server too so you can befriend me if you want to, you can normally find me at my FC's house at Lavender Beds 4-11
Ahh might take you up on that one. I could do with a house tour. Honestly its been great, a lot of people are friendly. I haven't played an mmo in years and I got a lot of learning to do. Going to start my MRD sub class soon. Kind of anxious because I've never been a tank before.

I love newbies! Honestly when I do low level roulettes I am always hoping to find someone new, otherwise they're so boring. The last time I did Totorak with my whm there was a new DPS who probably didn't know about level sync. He asked us how come we had such cool weapons and gear at a low level (I had my Thyrus Zenith), so we chatted a bit about Relic Weapons.
Now I'm leveling a tank, just started doing dungeons, and I have to say, I've always met cool and patient people. Feels great!

I'll just reflect the sentiment here - many times I have much better run with freshmen than with old "hardcore" players trying to rush through roullette as fast as possible. I don't mind fails or longer time needed to complete the dungeons, I play for fun, not to have second online "job"I actually prefer to run low level DR (I play / level up all 8 alts) and many days those are the only ones I do run and I'm still having fun even after running 8 of those a day.

I could do with some help from players like you guys. First mmo I've played and its a lot to learn on your own! Keep up helping those newbies.
I wish my experiences were with you people. All i get is "You better skip the cutscene." or grief because i made all my gear

I really love playing with newbies too, some of the best dungeons i've done are with new players.

I see that I'm not alone on this. I often say that I prefer to play with newbies that really try to learn and improve, than with some of the lvl 50 players.
It's way more fun and satisfying playing with the first, helping them, giving tips if needed, and often seeing them improve. Rushing through a dungeon for the 1531351 time killing mobs in less than 5 seconds, and without anyone saying anything, is boring as hell.
