Someone griefed you for making gear? It's a crafting game. I make my gear and I'm proud of it. HQ and wear it for to long. :P

Being that newbie and remembering how nice it was for a higher leveled player to help my confused, overwhelmed butt was great. After that I offer what I can if someone needs because I know how it felt all those years ago in Windy playing FF11. Thanks for taking me to the dunes, Lady. I probably would have quit without your help.

I love helping new people. I try to treat them better than how I was treated the first time I did a dungeon....

...To those who just want to rush through a dungeon without taking the time to help less experienced players: it is your fault that there are players running endgame content with bad habits. Instead of teaching them early on how to play their job, you carry them through the lower level content just for your tomes. I\\'ve seen ilvl 90 DPS run stuff like Tam-Tara or Copperbell as if they were a tank, meanwhile, the lvl 20 tank has no idea what is going on, can\\'t gain or maintain aggro, and we make it through the dungeon with no problem. How is that tank supposed to learn how to be a tank? Slow down, help each other out, and it will help you and the community in the long run.

I too enjoy running with new players and helping them, a good bit of the people I friend are new and I like to give them pointers and help them level / gear up.

The elitist don't stop to think if the new players stop joining and the game stops growing SE will slow down on content or just end up breaking the game to "entice" more people in.

Yeah i agree, helped out a few WHM along the way when I was playing something other than a White Mage and even been helped out when I was levelling Scholar. We all have to learn something in the game anyways why not pass that along. I'm still not fond of Scholar but i am a better player because of the help i was given haha.

Hey guys, first post! A little back story:
I have never played an MMO in my life. In every RPG I always want to be the guy with the best looking armor, swd/shld, so the natural choice for me was Gla/Pld role! Boy, did I not see it coming... My first main story dungeon, Sastacha. I get a message: "you gonna go?" The first mob I get to, I go in Sword swinging and get torn apart by 2 people. "You don't know you're doing", "get out of here" then 5 minutes into the dungeon, kicked!
I turned off the game and started studying! The 1st time in a dungeon I have no idea where to go and what to pull. After I finish it the 1st time, I can kill it the next time, but the 1st time I usually get a "I feel for any party that has to suffer through this tank, lulz!" I think that last time it happened was The Stone Vigil, though after that initial first time, I blazed through it after that like a boss! I almost cancelled my account after that remark.

TL;DR: Keep doing what you're doing!

Now I'm pretty good at my job but that initial run I'm going to somewhat suck. I always tell people "Hey first time in here" but that doesn't really seem to matter in most cases. Some people just speed run and get mad cause I don't fully know what they're doing or where they're going. I always watch a run on YT before I go in, so I kind of know what to expect, but heaven for bid I let one enemy slip for a second and I get my butt chewed. It just kind of sucks sometimes. Thanks for reading, and helping us noobs out when you can!! I hope to see some of ya'll in my game!!
