buying a free company house

our free company on lich have been saving for a medium house .we now have around 5.5 million and i was wondering what are the costs.

we have seen plots on limsa for around the 8 million mark ,i would like to know what else will it cost in gil,are there bits we can craft etc

You buy the plot, then you buy the permit for 450k or so, which will build the house. After that, you can buy furniture or craft it, buy gardens and other decorations.
You can use dyes to change the color of the house in a couple ways.

so the outlay (about 8 mill) for the plot and the permit (450k) and thats it ,loving the sound of that

is there weekly rent to pay or some similar service

No, but they're working on making it so that if no one in the FC visits the house in 35 days, the whole thing is forfeit.
Otherwise, you just pay these fees once, and you're set for life.

450k is for small house.. medium house cost 1 million for the permit..
