Suggestion: Specific item quality search

Something that I've noticed recently, higher quality items are having to lower their prices so that they will be seen in the search list due to how the market search is set up. For example: If NQ cotton thread sells for 200gil each, and there are 30 people selling NQ cotton thread for 200 gil, the person who is selling Cotton thread +3 for 1k each isn't going to be in the list at all so the chances of his item selling are very low. This means that he will either have to bring his prices down to 200 or less OR sell NQ cotton thread for less than 200 so that his retainer gets noticed and this will increase his chances of selling what he intended in the beginning.

My suggestion: Adjust the search so that, upon selecting an item, a second window pops up with a list of the qualities (NQ, +1, +2, +3) then, upon selecting which quality you want, the search list will (of course) ONLY show the item for the quality that you selected, it's price and it's location.

I believe that this would help stimulate the current economy and actually get items to sell at decent prices instead of NQ and HQ having to be reasonably the same price just to sell due to a lacking search function.

I agree with the suggestion, though it's been brought up dozens of times already. Hopefully it'll get some attention this time.

Apologies, I wasn't aware that it had been brought up before. You would think that a rep would have showed up in one of the threads by now with an update...

There's no other way than bringing it up 1000 times on the forums if the devs keep ignoring the problem.

The problem is the older versions were made in the appropriate forums instead of General. Unfortunately even the reps hardly look there so it's hard to get word. Bringing it up in General is usually the fastest/only way to get a rep to comment on it.

Edit: Though this is something that needs to be fixed. People who are selling have a harder time getting a good price range for their particular quality of item and those trying to find a +3 for instance have a much harder time differentiating those that are +3 from those that are simply obnoxiously priced.

Give us a real AH that lets us search through everything being sold. With the wards you still have the problem of the item you want not being sold in the correct ward. That +3 cotton might be sold in the weapons ward because the retainer is mostly used for selling weapons.

as much as I try to defend the wards, I have to agree. The whole ward thing is a little odd, but I do like the idea of being able to sell what...20? items at once with the ward/retainer system. Thanks to the current search function, items being in different wards isn't much a problem aside from tax. The biggest thing, like I stated in the OP, is that the search function is TOO basic. So basic, in fact, that it only works for items that aren't sold often or for finding NQs of items.

I'm with you there Dubont. I like the concept of the wards but so many problems are starting to arise because of them, it may very well just be easier for all parties involved to just add an Auction House. With the over crowding, inactive retainers and of course the lack of certain useful search options the wards are starting to just become cumbersome.
