FFXIV Trolls

I've been reading a lot of threads recently and it seems like whenever somebody voices distaste for the FFXIV's systems or the way SE has been handling things they are inevitably labeled as a troll.

I honestly disagree with this. I don't think there are many trolls at all. I'm sure all of these people want the game to be changed for the better. I don't believe anybody would be wasting their time on a forum for a game they knew/wanted to die.

Just my thoughts.

The moderators are suspending accounts and closing any threads in which there is a disagreement between two crowds of people. For example, there was a WoW thread a while ago that was locked because the moderator felt "comparing FFXIV to other titles" creates undesired debates, then slapped the FFXIV forum guidelines in their post (which had nothing to do with the thread's validity mind you). I was not the creator of the thread, but I didn't see anything wrong with the subject matter.

This is likely due to one of two things: the forum moderators here have a bias'ed interpretation of what's considered an offensive argument, or the forum moderators are trying to isolate a specific group of opinions in order to influence feedback somehow.

I got suspended for two forum posts that were completely relevant and on-topic, with a constructive point of view on each thread. They still have not given me an explanation as to how I violated the forum guidelines either.

I wouldn't be surprised if this post (or thread) was deleted (or locked) also. So you not only have the users wrongly accusing you of trolling, you've even got SquareEnix wrongly accusing you of trolling as well. There's no way to win.

The guidelines were slapped in the thread because of the arguments. Comparing FFXIV to other games is also frowned upon and is nonconstructive and irrelevant due to the fact that "FFXIV is not trying to copy other games." (as mentioned by Yoshida)

Normally 'trolls' are labled just that because they feed off of peoples responses, thats how they get there kicks basically. So they will log on forums create chaos, retarded offensive things.. because its the easiest way to get people offended.

I mean, for example if what TheVedis said about Belgian holds true(i'm not on there server so it could be false) then this is a prime example of someone still logging into a game they say they hate just for the sake of trying to offend people.

He does nothing but create threads that are inflamatory and meant to cause arguements like the one we are having here now
And for those of us unfortunate enough to be on his server, all he does ALL DAY is sit in Uldah talking trash about the game, to the point where he has actualy been jailed for it several times(see his video)
right now hes sitting at broken water on an alt 10 feet from me, (its name is Warcraft Cataclysm) and hes purposely entering behest here to take up a spot, even though hes rank 1, denying others the chance to get SP from it. Also did i mention hes out here talking about warcraft alot?

the guy is a nuisance, and not just on these forums either, hes actualy banned from quite a few others

it was more things like this that I was referring to in the Slot-Cost thread which I'm guessing this thread was created in light of. (which btw re-read what I wrote, didnt mean that I was against slot-cost.. I edited it just not in time cuz I figured someone would take it that way)

The ones that are mainly labeled as trolls are the ones that simply go "Blah Blah XIV SUCKS BLAH BLAH!" They complain over and over and add nothing constructive at all about what will help the game. We all have frustrations but a few seem to want to pick at open wounds and pretend they want the game to be a success. Everything we could say to bash SE has already been stated over and over again.

Despite public articles prior to the game's release stating inspirational sources, okay. Well, despite that fact, whether it tries not to copy other games, it's still got the vanilla MMO recipe in there, so can't possibly see how comparisons to other games aren't constructive or relevant. If SquareEnix didn't want that, they shouldn't have created an MMO.

What YOU consider constructive/relevant, is just an opinion.

There are alot of trolls on both sides of the table

there is however a wide misunderstanding of what a troll actualy is, and people yell troll and fanboy whenever they arent getting people to agree with them

OR, it could just be that due to the general vibe of the posters on the official forums thus far, they've decided that those types of threads are relatively pointless, lead to unsubstantiated insults against posters or other instances of trolling(not necessarily the OP's), and are a pain in the ass to moderate.
