So now that fatigue is going away....what about Gathering Fatigue?

Since we've gotten confirmation that fatigue will be removed with Patch 1.18, I'd like to know if Gathering Fatigue will be addressed. For those that don't know what I'm referring to, this is for example what a Miner or Botanist will experience when gathering after a certain amount of time. When this occurs, you will start damaging the items you gather more often, making it harder to obtain materials.

In my experience and others who I play with, this seems to occur after only 2-3 hours worth of gathering and requires you to wait 24 hours before gathering again. Is this ever going to be worked on?

If Gathering Fatigue is a way to keep the market from flooding with materials or something similar, I feel that you should be able to gather for a little longer than 2-3 hours (5 or 6 possibly) as a lot of players use these classes to farm their own crafting materials (rather than pay inflated prices in the wards). I feel the system punishes legitimate gathers for the sake of attempting to cull RMT bots. I also feel the system should not share fatigue between gathering classes.

I'd like to know what everyone else feels too about Gathering Fatigue and it's pros/cons.

Edit: Here is the dev response regarding Gathering Fatigue (thanks Griss!)

    "Hello fellow adventurers!

To clear up your questions, we have checked with the Dev. team and found out the following.

As a countermeasure against RMT activities, the probability of gaining items through gathering will start to decrease after repeated attempts over a long period of time. After a certain number of attempts, items will no longer be obtainable through gathering.

To explain a little more on what goes on behind the scenes, there is an internal counter which measures how often a player has attempted gathering activities. Players will start with a maximum pool of 2,500, which will decrease by 10 each time a gathering attempt is successful and yields an item. Once this number decreases to 1,000, players will find it harder to obtain items. At 0, items can no longer be obtained through gathering.

Stopping gathering for some time will bump this number back up. The recovery rate is currently set at 100 per hour.

If you have ideas and feedback on this topic, please don't hesitate to let us know."
