Every time one's RL job comes into topic in-game, I always get weird looks when I say that I am an horse trainer IRL. Everyone tells me they didn't expect people "like me" to play MMOs. So I got curious, what kind of people play MMOs?

Before as a student I would budget my loan to pay for FFXI subs.

No, seriously. Though, I'm not part of any in-office FCs...I think most are on Excalibur or something.

Though being intimately familiar with the rather immense measures taken to deal with RMT in WoW (and it is an uphill battle no matter what, lemme tell ya), it frustrates me to no end seeing similar features, like a simple right click > report, still nonexistent in FFXIV.

It's funny. Despite the prevalence of stereotypes, there really is no "typical" MMO player. Reason for this is it's such a social type of gaming hobby compared to others, easy to get together with RL friends in, and an exceedingly cost-effective form of entertainment for all that you can get out of it.

it pays easily my subscription, but far not enough for the therapy i would need ^^
