Question on running/walking faster

I am wondering what items, spells, and abilities are out there that increase your running speed while out in the field and cities.

I know of the Hermes Shoes from having a current FFXI account and the abilities from gathers when searching for close nodes. Are there any more?

I've been crafting lately and so hanging around cities and have noticed a few charas that fly by me while running and noticing a few times in my log that so and so chara is no longer quickened. Since I'm crafting I can't click on them to see what buff they would have, but then I'm not sure if I would even recognize the buff's icon ^_^;

I'd love to be able to increase my running speed while out in the field and in cities, what would you suggest?

I know of Quickstride, an activated Archer ability that dramatically increases running speed for a short time...which it looks like you should have or will get shortly, because I'm only 27ARC and I have it.

I think there's also Fleet of Foot, a Lancer ability, but that may only increase your Active Mode movement speed.

Ah! Yes, I got it at 22, but haven't tried it out yet. I thought it for battle only ability for some reason! ^_^; Thanks and can't wait to try it out! ^_^

It's also possible that you're seeing people using gathering class abilities -- Triangulate for Botany; Prospect for Miner; and Dowse for Fisher.

Essentially, those abilities search for gathering nodes (of the correct level). If there are gathering nodes in your area, but they're more than 200 yalms away, then you get a "Quicken" effect that makes you run faster.

As of 1.18 you can use it in passive mode now! Equip it on everything! j/k
