Because there are other low level dungeons that are more interesting. And by "other low level dungeons", I mean "literally anything else that isn't Thousand Maws".

I'm perfectly fine with doing low level duties, I really like some of them. Haukke is nice, Brayflox NM is fun, Cutter's is decent if a bit long, Dzmeal is great, and Stone Vigil is probably my second favorite dungeon in the game, behind pre-nerf Pharos. Sastasha, on the other hand, just feels terribly boring. The bosses are completely uninteresting, the setting is bland, you have almost no abilities because lollevelsync and it feels like it drags on for way too long. Some of this is to be expected, obviously, since it's the first dungeon in the game, but even Tam-Tara and Copperbell are less tedious. Plus, the roulette seems to derive some sick pleasure from giving it to me multiple days in a row.

I don't quit out of dungeons very often. Thousand Maws is the only one where I will 100%-immediately-without-hesitation drop out because everything about it is absolutely terrible. But Sastasha is a pretty close second and frankly sometimes I'm just not in the mood.

If they'd split up the low level roulette into two separate queues (one for 15-32 dungeons and another for 33-49 dungeons) or allow for a roulette blacklist (ie. choose two or three duties you refuse to play and it won't pick you for them) it would alleviate a lot of this.

I just stay because i know i'm the success of the party ( espically in pharos ).
I can carry really hard so even with bad party members i can still pull hard enough to win it for the group.
Also usually if the healer leaves then tank leaves and vise versa.
But when tanks do leave me i just go like okay guyssss we'll just clear trash up to boss so that tanks will most likely see that we are at boss via join in progress status ( 1/3 , 2/3 3/3 )
Also since a lot of us are over geared. I hit 6k+ hp out of light party and with no food buff, so i can tank almost every boss if the dps is around i70-100+
But if i really do have to leave due to some reason ( i feel sad, tired/ sleepy, bored , too laggy with 7+ sec delays) i'll just apologize/ say my reason and leave.
I don't mind eating that 30 min penalty cuz i'll either log off right after cuz i had to go or i'll just craft, gather , SB, or something else that is more productive than to wait it out doing nothing.

I personnally never drop out of a roulette. You get what you asked for : a random dungeon. Blame it on your luck if you get something you didn't want. Next time you may be luckier.

no, a game is suppose to be fun not a chore or obligation.

I do not give up even if it's a boring dungeon or a slow group. I signed up for the roulette and I will finish it. Unless the whole group leaves first or if something really toxic is happening and I can't resolve it.

I only queue roulette once for the bonus and then just eat the timer to get the highest level dungeon I can queue for. I don't know if it's the case, but it *feels* like the xp is just better that way.

and I'm also sick of thousand maws. That one just pops wayyyyy too much.

    I'm glad I'm a SCH.
Since I can basically have Eos/Selene solo heal Haukke and below, I can help make
damage go by faster...but man, I am so sick of getting Tam Tara sooo muuuuuuuuuch.

Roulette is also suppose to help the newbies/lowbies run dungeons. If not for the roulette
these things are collecting dust. So...I suggest don't do them lol. I just take the spin
because I'm helping someone, which always seem to be Tam Tara and I get something
    in return too.

If you're not willing to do Thousand Maws or Sastasha, then you have no business queuing for them. When you queue for Roulette, that's just shorthand for queuing for ALL the unlocked dungeons in that particular Roulette, with an added bonus to thank you for queuing for all of them rather than just your favorites. So when you queue for Low-Level Roulette, you're queuing for Sastasha and Toto-Rak.

Either queue for them and then be willing to run them, or else don't queue for them in the first place. If you're only willing to run your favorites, than you should only queue for your favorites.

It's not a chore, but in multiplayer games you do indeed incur obligations. When you promise several other people that you'll do a run with them, and on the basis of that promise they drop whatever else they're doing to begin it with you, then you are obligated to follow through on what you said you'd do. That's what's happening in DF. You queue for a dungeon and a group is put together so you can run that dungeon together. If you don't intend to actually run the dungeon, then you shouldn't have said you would (i.e. queued for it).

Anybody who is unwilling to accept having obligations to other people should stick with single-player games. As soon as you get into a multiplayer environment, there are going to be other people involved. You can no longer base everything on yourself alone.

Or, I could leave and accept the penalty the game imposes upon me for doing so. I am not obligated to force myself to do something in a video game that I actively dislike. Ultimately I'm playing the game to have fun, and when I have 35 minutes of Thousand Maws ahead of me, I will not be having fun.

Of course, I also understand that it is inconvenient for other people, which is why I avoid leaving early as much as I can. I don't drop out of Halatali or Copperbell because even though I don't find them to be particularly engaging, I don't detest them to the point where I'm no longer enjoying myself while playing a video game. I do drop out of Thousand Maws because I know I will not be having fun because of how much I dislike the dungeon, and if I'm not having any fun at all I'm simply not going to play the video game.

If the game had some method to opt-out of certain duties, this wouldn't be an issue. But as long as the system remains the way it is, people will continue dropping out of stuff they flat out dislike.
