[Suggestion] Creating a Shorter DF Que

I think there is one option that would help the DF que: allowing people to chose which gear they can roll need on.

Right now, I'm trying to gear my bard out; however, it's proving fairly difficult since que wait times are so long for DPS. Now, if I que as my scholar, I can at least get tomes out of the dungeons. But when bard gear drops there's nothing I can do.

So what do I do? Sit in a long que as a bard, when I could simply help the situation out by being a healer that has chosen to roll need on bard gear instead of scholar gear.

I understand this might be frustrating for new players that just reached 50. Perhaps there should be a clicky option like the option to join groups already progressed in the instance that allows for you to join groups with people choosing gear for different toons.

How would that create a shorter queue? All it would do is make it to where everybody rolls Need on everything instead of Greeding, completely defeating the purpose of the two options.

As Kiri said, this would entirely defeat the purpose of Need vs Greed since people would just roll Need on everything.

And if you added a checkbox for it in the duty finder, it would make queues *longer*, not shorter. The more options and filters you add, the longer queue times will become.

Don't worry once a Actual support class comes out and if they decide to give its own spot in the que instead of making it que dps then Dps should que faster everyone will be herding to the new class. (Tank/Dps/Dps/Support/heal) 5 man dungeons!

She's saying that if she checked the box, she would no longer be able to roll need on healer/mage gear, but she would be able to roll need on bard/DPS gear. She would not be able to roll need on everything.

Personally though, I'm not really for this idea. I already have enough competition as it is to get some of my gear, I don't want everyone to be able to opt in on the gear I want. Melee DPS would be seriously hurt by an addition like this, especially if everyone who queued for tank/healer for faster queue times checked the box to roll for DPS gear.

The struggle is real. I recently started gearing up my WHM in coil. If you want the gear, you gotta play the job.

While route one you get 2 partys started in that que so 4 dps down meaning 26 dps outside looking in
you get 5 partys started meaning 10 dps outside looking in and healers already set for the next batch of tanks. Its better to have a chance of a roll then not getting a roll at all woldnt you say. If you got a 30 min que for dps well that 1 maybe 1.5 more Dudgens done in the time you would be "waiting to horde your loot" Win Win

I'm probably just taking a more selfish standpoint, but I don't want to have to run more dungeons because someone playing a tank or healer class takes my DPS gear from me (or healer/tank gear, whatever).

Think about if a DRG were running second coil where the one piece of gear they needed dropped. They are the only DRG in the party, they roll need, but one of the tanks rolls a higher need number than the DRG and steals the gear from him. Now the DRG has to wait until next week to even get a chance at that drop, which has a ridiculously high probability of being a different piece of gear for a completely different class. And there's a good chance the tank that stole the gear hasn't even leveled his DRG to be able to equip the piece of gear in question. This is the sort of thing that I don't want to see if a system like this were ever implemented.

How would this even remotely begin to create shorter queues? Also how DPS you know actually have tank or healer roles leveled up to any degree?

I play all three. I know that as healer or tank, I get into stuff faster and more often, and already have an edge at rolls, by simply getting more rolls over all. To let me focus on a specific DPS gear would be wrong. Not to mention I would keep running my tank or healer at low or lower iLevels over and over and making it rough for everyone else, since I'd funnel it all to the main DPS I want to gear and not upgrading as fast. And I am sure this will be exactly what other players will do too. And then to top it off you will be competing with them for gear. Just does NOT seem fair at all.

You know what would help? Let players trade these gear on the market board, instead of being unique untrade-able binding (even at 0% spirit bound) etc.. This will let more players play more roles they want and that will help alleviate the tank and healer shortages.

So you can need on what you want, cool, fine. And perhaps people will roll tank/healer more that way. Again cool and fine.

But not only will it make no difference (the amount of DPS compared to tank/heal is just crazy) it'll create another problem because people will rage (and rightfully so) that classes take loot they SHOULDN'T easily be able to get with a Need roll. There's a reason it's there, you know.
