You can tell by the way they run around in the dungeon too. They don't actually follow anyone if they are lost, the one in totorak got turned around cause of how maze like that place is, and had an obvious client hack since it died and didn't respawn at the start of the dungeon.

I have yet to see a healer that acts this way, but with the gil sellers promising fast leveling, its pretty bad when you get one. I doubt you'll see any in post 50 dungeons, unless the gil sellers start promising fast myth grinds :/

The latest one i had in tam tara didn't ever even wait for us, he would pass the boss line and run straight up to the priests. It was too mindless for even a bad tank.

Even bad tanks will talk to you if you say something to them, or they will respond by at least changing tactics.

Ok so I did brayflox again, I got into a in progress party that the healer quit at the final boss lol. Throwing adlo on poisoned people did help alot.

I actually did cutter's too, and found that worm boss to be harder to heal, partly cause we all kept getting hit by his aoe nonsense.

Must post this. My Official 1'st It's the Tanks fault. Join Party in progress Brayflox. First boss fight l watch myself die not from spike damage but simply not receiving any heals. I come back and am told. Tank all your gear is broken and you not wear anything on you head and feet. Then came the vote to abandon. I was laughing so hard. I'm 38 so my gear is showing the s for it being sync. I'm wearing HQ Heavy Plate that does not allow you to place a head/foot item.

After the fight the DRG blames me for the wipes.

As a first time player, I would highly recomend for anyone new not to tank.

I don't usually blame the tank (I usually AM the tank, actually) but I met a tank tonight that seriously deserved it. Immediately upon landing in Halatali HM, they said "Small pulls". Okay, makes sense since we had a DRG and a MNK. Not a very SR friendly combination, so I didn't think anything of it Well, this PLD runs out in Sword Oath. The WHM asks her to switch to Shield Oath, to which she responded: No need. What? Just... what?

WHM (who is in FC with me and entered the dungeon with me to help queue faster on DRG) proceeds to PoM and Holy the next pull and yank aggro from every mob off her, including her #1 marked target. I didn't see her use a single defensive cooldown or even use Flash once throughout the entire first leg of the dungeon. God help a DPS if you attacked something in the wrong order cause you'd end up with aggro on the first hit. Yeah. We ended up abandoning after the first boss (I just went in there for 20 myth anyway, so the hell with it).

I really wish people would either learn to play the class or not bother queueing on it. Then maybe the actual good tanks out there would get less overall hate and get blamed for less random crap.

From what I seem to be experiencing lately, blaming the tank can also amount to 'go to my pace or don't go at all', I've had a few runs now on the lower geared places that pretty much amount to me being called a 'p*ssy' because I don't want to pull the entire dungeon in one run, and it wasn't even that they wanted me to do that. It was that I was being told, not asked. Doesn't ruin my day any to leave, I'm not gonna sit there and act like I'm fine with being bossed around because I don't want to SR everything under the sun because I can. Really, is it so hard to go "Can you pull everything, please?" instead of 'pull all' and then have the healer and one of the DPS grab everything anyway?

Oh well, not my concern. I'm not gonna take that sort of crap.

Pelican Boss. Tanking way. Doing my best to avoid the cone and grabing the adds as I am able. Not paying attention to my HP's next thing I know I am dead. As I lay there in my own blood wondering what happend the Healer said "I just knew this would not be a smooth run" then promply left the instance. I asked the 2 DD's what happened (I try to learn from the mistakes I make) and one of them said. "you died".

I have both a tank and a healer at level 50, and I've had my share of... "Unusual" groups...
My latest WTF was in Cutter's Cry while leveling my WHM. The dungeon goes on ok. Tank seems good enough, I'm managing my mana and his HP well, DPSs are killing things at a decent speed. Normal run, no troubles. Then we get to the last boss chamber. We had a BRD, a BLM and a WAR. The BLM had troubles either IRL or with his connection and didn't catch up with the group, so I thought we were waiting for him. Lost focus a second and next thing I knew the WAR and BRD were fighting the boss. I got inside the arena to heal the WAR, then he bolted out the arena before it sealed. I followed and the BRD was locked there and died. WAR then decided to start a vote kick on BRD which I refused but the BLM agreed, so we missed a DPS. When I asked why, WAR said that he was stealing aggro all the time during dungeon and that it was him that initiated the boss. I felt a bit pissed at his behavior, since he never said anything about that in chat. He then wanted to do boss now, but I refused until we got a fourth member (I didn't have very good gear or level at that time). That must have pissed the WAR, since right at the start of the fight (after we got a fourth), he got a little aggro then sheathed his weapon. We wiped. When we asked him what happened he ranted about me not wanting to do the boss with 3 party members then left the duty.
