I think also if they pay attention, as it doesn't cost anything..., the mob we pull...turns red first. Meaning...ATTACK THAT ONE PLZ!!!

Maybe some DPS don't understand that...

Meh, I just keep aoe threat on everything and let the dps do whatever they want(probably a side effect of leveling monk and blm first and being annoyed when tanks would lose hate to spread dots). Except for the few enemies that absolutely need to be burned down quick(like qarn bees or vigils dragons) I've never seen much point in focusing down one enemy at a time. More tanks need to start taking loss of aggro on a mob as an insult to your ability rather than blame it on others.

I especially like it when dps in gear over ilvl 90 in low level dungeons give you shit for not holding aggro, when as a lower leveled tank it's really, really hard to keep up with them.

Like, for real people? You're in the full soldiery bard set. You should be able to tell that you're out damaging the ability to keep hate off you, you've made it far enough that even a dps should know how the emnity indicators work... Oh, right, they just don't care. :/

This doesn't matter mostly in dungeons because of how dungeon level syncing works. If the tank isn't wearing jewelry and isn't keeping his left side up to date then he will have problems and this true whether his party is synced or not.

It does matter a bit Tank leveling will not be geared at the maximum level for the instance but synced down 50s will be.
At lower levels if I thrown a tomahawk / shield lob and a dps started right away dpsing I could tell if he was 50 or not. (not to mention the dark zone for PLD before they get Shield Oath)
And as builder of the realm I did always kept jewelry and armor up to date :P

Not impossible to tank just a bit more spam, and no panic if mobs are running back and forth from you and other player.

In the end it is team work.

Being new to this game, probably would have never chose gladiator in the beginning had I known what it was all about. Not knowing what a tank role even was, no one ever said anything in the first few dungeons as to how I was playing until Halatali when I was paired with high ranking players. All they did was yell at me the whole time and offered no help, no one died though and we made it through, got all kinds of hate messages. I thought I just had to kill everything in there like I did previously, boy was I wrong.

Thats when I looked up what a tank role actually was and ended up here. Been trying to gather up pointers and as much info on tanks as I can. I think I'm getting better at it, atleast no hate messages since. I'll just stick to the lower level dungeons until I get better at it. So I just figured I'll keep at it and get better, but I can see why no one wants to play as a tank and also why the blame game goes on.

That's it right there. You will be a great tank due to your wanting to be a good one. Learn your role, abilities and skills. Practice makes perfect. I am sorry those D-bags heckled you instead of offering guidance. As a tank though, we develop a special stone-skin, a "ain't no body got time fo dat-skin".

May your shield arm stay strong sister, and your flash taste like SPAM!!

I leveled my War after the roulette was instated and never had any issues since I was reusing all my pld gear. I find that tanks that have trouble because someone there is a lvl50 in the party are the same people that have trouble anyways because they aren't pulling/flashing/overpowering/rotating combos/etc properly. I asked one of the war's in my fc and he was like just do 2 overpowers and then start doing enmity combos, and I never had any issues, I had started playing war in dungeons by doing overpower 3 times, but 2 was enough.

If the tank dies, its the healers fault.
If the healer dies, its the tanks fault.
If the dps die, it is their own damn fault.

It applies to all, you guys just don't get it. If you follow these rules, all is good.

I Mark Targets in Dungeon's Purely for New Players... If we have them, and only so they Know what Needs to die First.

Most groups i never have a problem with.. And if i Do it's never the Class/Role i Blame... Bad Healers are not All bad, Experiance helps. Bad DPS can be dealt with with a Little Patience.. Bad Tanks? Well that's why i Like Monk's for Low level Dungeons... Tanked Hauuke Manor from the Basement too the Last Boss as one when the Tank Bailed... (Wondered to opposite Way as the Rest of the Party after he Pulled/Aggroed the Patrolling Succubus and then Just said "Ok" and Left after engaging another Rooms Enemies and Dying). All Tanks can be good When given abit of Tutoring.. Then again i Like Helping people and Saying how they Might improve IF they want the Advice.

Sometimes insanity is the Only option.... Sanity Isn't the Norm, It's only what's Expected.
Insanity is the option that you can take as an Exit if you need too.
