There are lots of MVP type scoring in many games. Rarely do those present actuate data. Thus they never amount to anything but a number.

It's worse if you put it into a game of this type because it limits content producible by the content team.

Asking someone to save their CDs to push a phase or hold their damage to reverse it and then have someone go "No way I want to beat my personal score".... recipe for disaster.

Enhance Training dummy is the only real alternative and that's not going to satisfy anyone.
