you should not put too much thought into parry, or secondary stats in general, they make no noticably impact at all.
Take the gear which is an update to your vit and str.

Only sec-stat you should have an eye on is your accuracy, and this only concerns coil.

Parry has a ceiling anyway at endgame, doesn't it? So anything over a certain value is redundant? I could be wrong, just something I read

What he said! Its a long read however. There is no Ceiling to Parry as its a Linear Stat.

The general concensus is that +13 points of parry equates to a 1% gain in Parry chance/rate (0.08% per point). So by reducing your parry by 100 (to 490) you are essentially loosing 8% parry rate. This may not seem like much since Parry is RNG similar to CRIT, but mitigation is mitigation and over a long fight this adds up, even if your hoping for a chance to parry.

By this logic i cant see it ever being a good decision to scrifice parry for any amount of secondary stats until you have cleared T9 with your group.

BG's Former MT now with Collision (Junpei) with several T9 Clears recommends prioritizing Parry over everything in a progression scenario (Link). He also posts his BiS list for progression.

I even challenged his theory (in that thread) with an alternative set which only traded off -15 points of Parry for +64 CRIT and he quickly shot that down as well. Survivability is key for tanks and a marginal DPS increase from our perspective wont make or break the fight. Parry on the other hand can and will mitigate the hardest hitting attacks on 2nd coil which could prove to be the difference maker.

Once you have cleared the hardest content you can consider changing up sets. Until then your better off stacking as much parry as you can.

I personally have aprox 580 parry atm and i notice that i parry quite frequently compared to my old set of 500.
