Nope. My building does a yearly power shutdown. It's for general maintenance of base building electrical systems. It's different from generator testing (done weekly), as these are systems that are meant to run 24/7. They wouldn't be able to safely do maintenance without completely shutting off the power, which also involves cutting off from the local city supply.

As Yoshida did not specifically mention what is the reason of outage, it could be due to building maintenance or a compulsory power cut issued by the Japanese government.

Power demand is being monitored daily and forecast-ed, and monitored by the Japanese government. As Japan's nuclear power plants are still shut down, at times the demand may be taxing (especially summer) and thus the government will ask companies and households to cut usage by a certain percentage. It could be just a request or it could be a compulsory order by the government.

Could have a lot to do with the whole losing there Main power plant, and etc. etc from that massive Tsunami and Earthquake they had.

You will be amazed on how much things you will found were left unaccounted for, when your company will have really the need for it working. We too power down everything for a day.

Not criticizing or anything. You do what you gotta do. It just sounds... odd.

Only thing I can think of is hardcore generator testing. But where I work they just start the generator once a week to make sure it turns over in the timeframe it should. We don't take all the power down in the building for it.

This is something that has been in effect around this time of year through the summer related to lack of power production capacity. This capacity issue is related to earthquake a couple of years ago that took down a good chunk of the capacity the region. As there are concerns of continuing to rely on nuclear there is a need to build other power sources. This is something that will take time and will continue to cause these summer rolling blackouts, or area blackouts.

This is something that could take a decade (be nice if it is less) to resolve.

As long as I know it's coming.

I don't get why people assume that there is some conspiracy theory with the actual reason for the delay... it's just a delay, if they had to delay it for other reasons, they would just say the real reason.

Because ppl rather believe that fan translators, don't really understand Japanese, and just want to mislead everyone with false information.
And Yoshi is obviously lying about everything, to confuse us, and purposely hiding information, to keep us in the dark.
They just rather make shitty conspiracy theories up, and throw around accusations, rather than not knowing what's going on. Cause obviously we're entitled to know everything, and if he's not writing a producer letter, to explain the details, within the hour...well he must be hiding something!
